Gov. Brown proposes tax increase

Gov. Brown is announcing a proposed 5.2 billion dollar gas, diesel, registration, and license fee increase along with an amendment requiring these fees to be used for transportation.

I like the amendment part.

It's a shame there's no waste or unneeded/ineffective programs in the rest of the budget they could divert money from.

It would be nice if they just used the current registration and gas tax for road stuff to begin with. Probably wouldn't have needed to increase taxes.

Wow. I pay less than $350/year TOTAL for 2 Mustangs, a Ranger, and Escape here in WI.

^^ sad but true. My truck is $650 plus, wifes 2002 suburban is about $85, my 2014 mustang GT was about $350.

this state wastes so much Gdamn money it aint even funny.

Sad part is NO ONE here gives a shit! its no wonder people are fleeing Ca in record numbers.

Holy crap! I can't believe it costs that much. That's one way to get the lower class out of your state. Here in northeast Florida they're polishing a turd by planting palm trees and setting pavers in intersections in crappy neighborhoods. Some dumb ass planted a bunch of magnolia trees under power lines. These trees get really big and will become an issue in a few years. And somehow a 190 million dollar courthouse turned into 350 million. I guess everyone is feeling overtaxed.
