I have put new studs in other vehicles without issues, but it's being a huge pain in the ass on my mustang.. I ordered some longer studs and I can't get them in all the way.. I've been using a stack of washers (both a big stack and small stack) with a nut and a long breaker bar to pull them in and they get about half way and I can't move them anymore. I tried putting the studs in the freezer and heating up around the stud hole. Still the same thing. Would you recommend using an impact wrench? I'm out of ideas and getting really frustrated. Any other ideas are welcome. Thanks.

Are they the long ARP studs?
Take a micrometer and measure any of the original studs, then measure the ARP. Bigger? You unfortunately have the wrong part number. They are really close but there are two different knurled head diameters.

I pulled mine in with an impact wrench and a Kastar wheel stud puller tool. However, for next time, I don't think it's worth the hassle, and would rather take the hub off to have a machine shop do it.

Which year car?
The ARP studs for some years you have to drill the hole very slightly larger.
On my 00R, I purchased the 05 studs and pressed the studs in with a press.

Different knurl size. You'll never draw them in without reaming the axles or getting smaller studs.

Yeah exactly what i was thinking. An impact will strip those moroso studs. There are 2 different size knurls as well. Check the size. When I did my ARP studs I froze them over night and used a large C clamp along with a long socket over the stud to seat them.
