I run a diff brace and poly diff bushings and dont have any signs of leaks.... and believe me I push the limits on my car. Its all in how you drive it.
Learning to launch correctly will save your rear from the dreaded leaks/halfshaft breakage. Wheel hop kills the IRS in our cars. If you get on it from a stand still and get hop.... get off the gas pedal immediately.

I didn't have any wheel hop, I don't think it had anything to do with the way I was driving. I did have stock bushings at the time though, so that may have had something to do with it. The thing is if you are going to go through the trouble to switch out the bushings it would be a good time to do the cover as well.

I agree the aftermarket cover is stronger but a good brace w Poly/Delrin Diff bushings will do its job up to a point. And yes a LPW/FRPP cover over a brace is recommended.

Thought I'd let everybody know that I'll have both my Mustangs at the World of Wheels at state fair park in Milwaukee Feb. 24-26. If you attend, stop by and say hello.

Got back in the ISCA after 23 years.

IRS or Solid axle... better specify. Maybe Bruce from Full Tilt Boogie might have something laying around.
oops. yea i just need a SRA. I talked with Bruce a couple years back and it doesn't sound like he ever gets many complete IRS' that he would sell. Probably out of my budget range right now anyways.

I would look into salvage yards that have 1995-2004 mustang GT's. You could get a decent rearend if you put in the research time.

yea ive been all over CL and car-part. most of the stuff im finding from yards are full rear ends that they dont want to tear apart at all, so looking at $300+ around here. i'd like a 99-04 SRA for the wider housing so i can get rid of my spacers. found a couple on CL for >$100 but of course its craiglist and no one posts phone numbers, just the CL email and they dont ever respond.

Yes Spring is almost here! Looking forward to cruising and car shows this year! I had a 04 Terminator, just replaced her with a 09 GT500 so im anxious to get her out since I bought it at the end of Oct last year!

Ha! Same boat man. Bought mine end of October, put it in storage beginning of November. It doesn't come out of storage until April 29th, it's going to be a long month and a half.

Man I thought you fell of the face of the planet... Welcome back Nick.
Nice ride by the way.

Not anymore. We'll occasionally go get ice cream at Oscars on a nice night, but that's about it. Back in the 90's I was up there all the time.

The reason I asked is occasionally i see a black Termi out there. Wondered if it was you.
