First, It has the original paperwork and another twenty different papers from the factory with the original factory window sticker (I think all are the same).

It came from a dealership in upstate NY. An undertaker bought in new and then sold it to a fireman who sold it to me.

It also has the original "Cobra 'R' Engine Checklist" and the "Hot Test Report" from Roush Technologies (all 1995 R engines were built by Jack Roush). It's all in this folder:

It is interesting as the Roush engine specs are dated Jan. 24, 1995 while the car was made March, 1, 1995. Many other cars went on to win many racing Championships.

It was recalled by the factory in December, 2002 for Recall # 00S37 by Frank Ligon who was the Director of Vehicle Service and Programs in 2002. I fixed the problem myself.

I changed the fuel tank in 2003 to a stock 1995 tank. I kept the original 1995 R fuel tank.

I have marks on the lower front pulley for stock and the better +2 degrees of advance. We all know that the pin/plug must be pulled before checking the timing.

It is here that I celebrate the upcoming 20th year of my ownership of the fastest factory-built production race car ever built by Ford: The 1995 Mustang Cobra R.

Doc, you have exceeded the amount of times you can reuse these photos. Please take your car out this weekend and drive it. I want to see wheels covered in brake dust. :)

Ha, ha,
I've actually driven it 3 times in the last 3 weeks. I'd drive it more, but Atlanta traffic is a pain in the butt in the car.

In celebration of 20 years of ownership, I bought another white car last week to keep it company: ;)

SWEET! Well said. These cars actually had 2 window stickers. They left DAP with a sticker WITHOUT a gas guzzler tax. Ford realized their error and shipped the dealers a new Monroney WITH the gas guzzler tax. The dealer was instructed to remove and destroy the sticker without the tax.

Thanks Tom,
All of my paperwork is back in storage so I am not sure which window sticker that it had. This is one car that I would never sell; it's a member of my family.

I am looking to buy/rent a new storage place for 2 or 3 of my cars with a couple of rental spots for a local car guy. I see the writing on the wall since my current storage is rented from a dude that has a growing race/restoration business. I'd rather move before that I'm asked to leave.;)

I've been looking for a 2012-2013 Mustang Boss 302, and I've been posting a WTB thread on the internet. Anyone know of one FS?

Thanks

The Ford Mustang Boss 302 was made in 2012-2013.

I've seen prices from $30,000 to $35,000 for a nice one with a little more for a Boss 302 LS. I am fully retired from the race track now so it would be a street car.

I just got an emissions certification from my 95R car in GA. It was a pain in the butt around here as the 1993-1995 cars need to do a dyno roller, and there are very few of these left in service.

The 1996-2014 cars allow them to just hook into the computer port under the dash.

BTW, I made three cash (actually a bank cashiers check) offers on Boss 302 cars but none were accepted. I think that I can get it done soon.

Here are my warnings with new information on racing a Cobra R:

Here was a previous race car that I owned:

Many things have changed since 1995.

I agree Tom, but I wouldn't change much since 1995.

I've driven the car now (it's legal for the first time since 2007) for many miles. The Tremec TR-3550 transmission is as close as I've ever experienced to a race straight cut-gear Jerico.

It still drives like a race car. My timing spot is stock (no advance). The MSRP was $37,599 with the Jack Roush engine. The car really doesn't like low Rpm's (it rattles like is said in the book).

It loves the high revs of spiritied driving. Although my car has old tires on it, I can pitch it where ever I need to go.

The best thing is that is the last of the computer cars before the 1996+ era.
