They should have code named this thing Lemonade. They were handed lemons with this platform and really did a great job engineering it to perform as best as it possibly could.

Gotta hand it to those Dodge marketing people as well. They have built up the Hellcat and now this Demon as well. Some of those Dodge commercials are pretty good.

All Ford has to do it make a GT500 that has more power than a GT350 and makes Porsche GT3 RS customers second guess their purchase

Yeah, I don't think ford is going to try and top the demon. I think they make an auto 5.2 CPC supercharged with 755 hp, which nudges the ZL1. Will be a fun car but not something I would need to have over something else.
Would be great to see them build a demon destroyer but they make the cobra jet and they probably feel this is good enough. Would be nice if ford would bring something extreme, but just don't see that happening.

As long as the new GT500 has gobs of power and torque, great looks/performance and can topple the Hellcats and new ZL1, I'll be happy. And in line to order. lol

^ they need to tell us something about it. I mean we heard about it how long ago and we barely know anything since then. It's obvious they aren't topping the Demon, but something that could beat a Hellcat would be satisfactory. I own a Challenger and 2 Mustangs; it doesn't bother me who's faster. It's good for the competition.

The looks department is huge for me as well. If I don't care for how a car looks, then it doesn't matter how fast it is because I'm not out racing every weekend anyways.
That's one thing I can say about the GT500s at least from a subjective point of view; they look better to me than the Challengers and Chargers. I like the "looks" of the Hellcats, but nowhere near as much as I like the look of a Shelby. Again subjective, but that's what keeps me in my current car.

Yes sir.
For me,....it's the Mustangs first, then the Hellcats, then the Camaro, as far as look go. I think the Camaro looks the best it has in years.

Agreed, I think they will certainly up the HP/bar but not to HP the Demon will have. The HP wars can only go so high before it just doesn't make any sense.

I agree that the 14 GT500 is one of the best looking cars Ford has ever made, especially the front end.

That said the 16 Challenger Hellcat isn't bad either.

I keep waiting for Ford to announce a new GT500 that will top the Hellcat and the 17 ZL1 with 10 speed auto, but not looking like anything is going to happen for another couple years. I've had the Hellcat for nearly a year and really like it, but would trade it for a twin turbo 5.0 GT500 with 10 speed auto without a second thought.

Looks like that's the route I am going as well. Although, I did write to VMP about building my car up. We shall see.
How do you like the Hellcat? I hear they are beasts! Did you get the M6 or A8. I'd probably get the A8.

You really can't go wrong with a Hellcat. Had mine for 10 months now, and I still love it as much as day 1. The hard part for some is making the choice to move away from the Mustang or not.

The A8 is a nice trans, too. In street mode it's super smooth and in track mode, it has quick, crisp, solid hits... including rev matching during hard braking and manual shifting.

Thanks Marc. I appreciate the info.
Sounds like a killer car. I drove a Challenger SRT8 years ago and really liked it. Sitting in the driver's seat felt like a cockpit. Pretty awesome.
I would go wit the A8 as well. I like the manual, but with the modern day automatics and paddle shifting/downshifts, it's pretty fun as well. Without a clutch! lol
If no GT500, I might go that route.

NP. Glad to help.

I have to say, the more credible car rags are saying that the new GT500 will be a turbo 5.0. That would be a great cart, but unless there is some other magic (like it's a better, blown GT530R) I can't see be getting excited about it. Especially since I can just boost the shot out of my GT350.

Yeah,...there's ton of speculation going around. I guess we will just have to wait "patiently". lol

Just a few more weeks before we know what the Demon is all about. Rumors are all over the place as far as the numbers this car is going to make. I hope Ford is watching.
