Thinking of picking up the K-Member and double adjustable coilovers. The car is mainly a street car so I want to be sure the K-member is ok for street use. Does anyone have any experience with this stuff? Safe to use on the street or is this a track only type setup?

def not a track only setup. I have the Viking coil-over with a different K member for my Turbo kit and its perfectly street friendly and my set-up is essentially a "Drag" set-up

that K member will prob drop like 30 lbs off the front end that will be better on the street as well

u prob wudnt even know my car is not stock other then the slight slip of the converter. for the street I adjust them much softer but their still very responsive

I have all the BMR rear end suspension crap as well as sub-frame connectors and with my 19 inch rims with NTO5r's it still handles extremely well in fact better then my 2009 Dodge Charger with the police package. slap on some 15 inch rims and it will still 60 ft 1.35's....

ull be fine with that no worries

I think my major concern is not the coilovers as much as the K-member and A-arms. I've read of a few guys that had K-members and or a-arms break on them from street use, but I don't know if that was the mild steel ones or not. Welds breaking from pot holes and such were the issues I've seen. I live in NJ and anyone out here can tell you that bent rims and blown tires are just something you accept on a normal basis. But I don't want to worry about breaking the actual structure of my car.

Now the Afco is chromoly so I'm thinking it will be as strong as the factory K, but I just want to be sure before I pull the trigger and or kill myself because my K-member broke. I've already broken a control arm off it's mounting point in a previous car and it scared the ever living shit out of me when the car pulled a hard left turn out of no where.

I have had different A arms on just about every car I've owned and their lighter and stronger usually. I have never had an issue bending or breaking an A-arm myself.

I live in Connecticut so I feel ur pain with the fukn pot-holes smh. but considering the K-member is lighter and honestly I have never known any of my buddies to ever break a K-member on the street and they all have em in their Mustangs since thats all we could ever afford was a Mustang lol

there is always that risk shit cud break. its not factory but its far lighter so that alone will mean it will withstand less overall abuse

Good point about it being quite a bit lighter. Maybe I should just stick with the stock K-member for my own peace of mind, I honestly don't care about the weight, I just want more room to fit my headers.

lol yea stock is always better less drama.... if its not for weight its prob not worth it to just have a little more room but over time shit adds up.... 25 lbs trunk lid, 30 lbs CF DS, 30 lbs rear seats, 10 lbs smaller battery etc....

but def not necessary and if it will give u peace of mind then prob not worth it

It would be nice to lose the weight but I have to weigh what makes sense. I want something reliable, not a race car for the street that I have to constantly keep up on. I'll just lay off the pizza and donuts instead.
