I finally took my intake manifold off and ported it with my craftsman grinder. It made a huge difference down low. I have 3.31 gears, and the car has always been sluggish in 1st gear down low, but my work definitely gave it an extra punch. I am going back to the dyno now that I have consistent e85 and the port work complete. I'll post the results here.

I used 5-6 60 grit sanding rolls to carve out material, followed by a much smoother sanding roll to smooth the cuts, and then hand sanded everything with 240 grit sandpaper until it was baby butt smooth. I used loctite plastic epoxy to fill in the seam at the TB opening, and it literally cured into an OEM type finish. Finally, thanks Drew (01bluesnake) for posting your work and giving me the idea for this modification!

Btw, if you want another dyno for comparison, carb connection in Kirkland Wa has a dyno-jet.

In previous threads, the OP wanted to compare what his car did on various dynos. My comment was out of context, but my intent followed his original story from other threads ;)

I'd go to the same dyno, otherwise the results aren't really comparable.

Honestly, it would be cool and "scientific" to see the results on the same Mustang dyno and share the numbers with the community; however, that dyno is an hour away and E85 mileage sucks (let alone there is only one pump that I know of). I do want to see a higher numbers on a dynojet as well. I have decisions to make lol.

Well you already know that dynojet numbers will be higher, what you won't be able to measure is any gains from the work you performed going to a different dyno.

did the same thing to mine, also got the idea from 01bluesnake. did mine right from the box though, so not sure of anything I gained specifically from doing that

I'm about to swap rear gears for 4.10s, I did a T56 swap with the 2.97 first, and no one is home until about 2500RPM. Gearing is just too wide right now. From everything I've read up on, 4.10s with the T56 closely mirrors the feel of 3.55s with the MT82 and I'm currently on my 3.55s still. so that will give me some punch back as well!

Hopefully that is true! I couldn't imagine running 4.10s with my mt82 for a daily driver especially since I'm creeping up on 500whp

yeah I'm right there with you on WHP. I've done ALOT of reading on the 4.10s with the T56 and while it is a lot of gear, I'm not going to lose much. the T56 is extremely tall. for example, during data logging today, in 3rd gear on an empty road, I was at 123mph when I let off around 7600. way too much for 3rd gear

Your very welcome, glad i could help and my original thread is still being seen haha. As others said, same dyno is the best, back to back test even better. We were lucky to have two CJ manifolds, so left one stock and ported the other with back to back test. That was the closest we could do for gains, same dyno, same day, same tune, gas, weather, etc. Hopefully you see some nice power pickup!

Unfortunately I didn't get a dyno result of before I installed the CJ but I talked to Shaun at AED before the purchase and did alot of reading on here, especially your porting thread. After finalized tunes it feels insane.

After a couple of days of driving I can say that the gains are definitely there. I have been adding 10-25 hp modifications one by one for the life of this car, so my butt dyno is finely calibrated lol. The mustang dyno that I worked with before offered me a good deal for a couple pulls so I will use them again. My car was heat soaked when we tuned, we did not add e85, so e85 gains will also be present (10 or so)

I am going back to the same dyno on my birthday, March 20! I am thinking about bringing a cake and hats and stuff to decorate the car. This should be a blast.
