How do you handle stupid sales calls

so I have been home since Oct and have gotten 1,345,666 sales calls about everything known to man. They are really tiresome. so I have decided to turn every single call I get into a down and nasty phone sex call. Latest one when something like this:

Her: good evening am I speaking with Mr Jones?
me: yes
Her: My name is kathy and I would like to inform you about a marvelous opportunity we have for you since you have excellent credit
Me: Is your pussy wet?
Her: excuse me?
me: Is your pussy wet?
her: uhhhhh no.

told another one that I would buy two of whatever they were selling if they would suck my dick. things have quieted down some

How do you handle the stupid?

I rarely answer the land line but when I do and realize it's a sales call I tell them thanks but no thank you and hang up.

Can you get charged with sexual harassment for comments like that should a sales lady get upset?

I just answer in Spanish.....or answer as Sal's Pizza can I take you order. Either way it throws them off and they just hang up with a thank you. If it's someone I know they know the gag.

Get caller ID. I only answer the phone when I know the number that is calling. Everyone else can scratch it.

My parents get tons of those calls where an automated system calls you, and when you answer it takes a couple seconds for a real person to get to your line. If someone doesn't answer quickly, they just hang up.

We don't have a landline and I don't answer a call if I don't have your number saved as a contact. Problem solved

You absolutely can, I doubt any telemarketing company is going to waste the time of day going after that though.

Yeah, don't know the number, no answer. I do the pizza thing to my friends though.

I kept getting calls from "Mark Morrison" at "National Patrolman Foundation". It was a very sophisticated robocall, where it sounded like a real person (Mark Morrison). I asked them to stop calling a few times, but no joy. They would keep spoofing the numbers on my caller ID, so I never could block them. Very annoying.
Finally I decided to play along, and said I would donate money, so I got switched to live person and made a pledge. At that time, I again asked to be removed from calling list, and they haven't called back since. I figure if they ever do call again, I will file as many complaints as I can and I will have the pledge mailing as proof of their actual location, etc.
Telemarketers suck, LOL.

Wanna hear them studder. When they tell you that you are on a recorded line for training purposes. Tell them you do not wish to be recorded.

Gonna have to see some proof that you could even remotely be charged with anything. Sexual harassment usually involves two co-workers... And they are the ones calling you. On top of that, for it to be harassment they have to ask you to stop/say it makes them uncomfortable.

Unless you make a threat I'm calling BS. Hell, a guy at the UM here recently got caught walking up to women and asking for hugs/kisses and they couldn't come up with a law he had broken.

Can't say I would say what OP does or condone it, but I can't see how it would be illegal.

Yeah if they're calling you I think you'd be able to say whatever you want outside of threatening violence.

I installed a Sentry 2 call blocker on my land line because we were getting endless sales and political calls. When a person calls, they get a automated attendant and they are instructed to press the one button if they are a human being and not a sales person, if they dont hit one, their number is permanently blocked. Anyone I wanted to call me, i instructed how to use the system or gave them my cell number.

As most of those calls are robocalls, I installed it and imnediately all of those calls stopped. It is now rare that the land line rings.

I answer the phone with "Go caller, you're on the air!"

I just go "ehhh? EHHHH???" as if I'm 90 and can't hear anything.

That, or I run a 3-way call to a pizza place and go silent.

I tried the soundboard gag one time. It worked pretty well but you have to be fast and memorize where the lines are.

I am gonna call bullshit. THEY called me, unsolicited and unwanted. That is my phone put there for my convenience not theirs. Don't think it woul fly with a DA or a jury.
