EBay Exhaust? How bad can it be?

I've had three eBay exhausts for other cars in the past.

They typically work well... and are at least made with good welds and long lasting materials. Fitment has always been spotty.

My current exhaust is driving me nuts. It bangs and clanks way to much and is without adjustment. Hangers and Rubber all looks good.

So I was eyeballing this...

It's $200 shipped.

It has slip joint fitment. I thinking I could sell my "magnaflow" exhaust system for $200.

I've been eyeballing Stingers but with vacation coming up and still needing camber plates, I don't have $650 for an exhaust right now.

What I tell customers that come into my shop

Can go the cheap route first

Or can do it right the first time

The latter is always cheaper in the long run, but the choice is yours

There's a reason it's $200 and namebrand exhausts are not

I'd get a quality exhaust system....I just stuffed a 3" Bassani catback (SRA) on my car....I had to make a few adjustments but no rubbing issues!

OP why not look in the market here for a gently used one if you're on a budget?

The $200 system surely isn't going to look like polished stainless...

I agree you get what you pay for. The shipping has to be at least $50, so the eBay "deal" for $200 shipped is only netting $150 to the vendor? The materials would have to be almost that much...plus the bending and welding. Something has to give...and my guess is the quality.

No chance of getting your current system tweaked to fit properly?

Marketing?

Domestic Labor rates?

OSHA and EPA Regulations?

Distributor Mark Ups and Profit Margins?

SG & A?

Ok so taking all of that into account,

How about R&D?

Do you think the $200 exhaust performs / has the same quality as the name brands? No, of course it doesn't.

Didn't you have a 20 page thread about how your car was hacked together? Why on gods green earth after going through all of that would you want to put more bullsht parts on the car? Come on man.

What are the reviews on said budget system? OP spends a shit load on the car and buys a off brand pos system. Not hating, just saying.

I know I know. I honestly can't find much info about them, I come across threads of people asking but nothing beyond that.
I'm pulling the SRA this weekend, so maybe I'll pull the cat-back and see if I can get it sold quick.
