Yes, On Stranger Tides. Has Blackbeard in it.

The bad guy is played Javier Bardem, so that should be good.

I recently rewatched the series, and the 2nd and 3rd ones aren't bad but the 4th one I just can't sit through.

Probably wait for reviews before I think about seeing it in theaters.

They picked a really good actor for the villain. Javier Bardem's performances in No Country For Old Men and Skyfall were excellent. He easily earned the best Daniel Craig series villain, in my opinion.
It's kinda funny how Penelope Cruz played Jack's love interest and now Javier is playing the bad guy in the 5th movie. Though he has some tough competition being the outstanding performances of Geoffrey Rush, Bill Nighy, and Ian MacShane as the villains. Personally, I think Bill Nighy's performance is the best out the villains of the series, then again he had two movies. So, he could tweak the character more.
Only thing I didn't like from the previews was it looked like the Queen Anne's Revenge got destroyed. Note the scene where Salazar's ship was vertical and dropped on another ship. It's like Barbossa finally got a ship of his own. Then Jack could finally have the Black Pearl to himself because he wouldn't be fighting with Hector over it anymore. Then Will Turner is back with the Flying Dutchman. I'd love to see a scene were the three ships did a cooperative battle (like the Pearl and Dutchman destroy the Endeavor) or just together. Then again they'd have to build another Black Pearl. It's painfully obvious the Queen Anne's Revenge is a re-skinned Black Pearl.

I'm stoked for these movies. I like them.

Better than the action garbage that comes out nowadays. I dont care about transformers 26, and my interest in F&F is dwindling.....seems like they're all just milking these franchises for all they're worth, Pirates included.

The others were somewhat entertaining so I'll catch it when it comes to home movie.

It's very rare that I get excited for a movie anymore. I never understood why my parents weren't into movies but now that I'm older I get that the rinse and repeat treatment of story lines and plots gets stale.

I've noticed that. I thought the transformers were awesome then I turned 20 and realized the horrible overuse of special effects in them. I used to like F&F until the 4th one came out. Don't get me wrong I love the cars, but it irritated me to see them destroy the classics, to the extent they did.
The POTC is about the only series I enjoy watching along with the Marvel series. The Hobbit series was in that list before they ended.

I can't believe the first one is was 2003. What a money printing machine for Depp.

Its too bad that the FF franchise has made the story way too big to ever get back to stealing CD players and street racing. A modern dig racing FF movie would be killer. using the cars that have come out in the last 15 years.

It's definitely been a successful series.

I only watched the first one, and some of the second. This one, based solely on the trailers, is a possibility when it comes to Showtime/Cinamax.

I haven't been to a theater in several years. This movie is making me want to go again.

Funny thing, the 5th and 6th F&F movies were easily in the top 3 of the franchise. IMO they were very good entertaining movies, 7th though was a joke overall.

I dont care too much for 8th but im watching it free tomorrow on an Advanced Screening.

Anyways, POTC 1 was pretty good, 2 was ok, 3 was ZZZzzzz, we saw the third movie and i shit you not, about 2-3 of us were sleeping. It was also late at night though. 4 looked pretty good but never came thru to watch it. 5th looks to be darker.

I've seen them and they're ok I guess. I've watch the newer ones, but when they drove the Grand Sport Corvette off the canyon I had enough. Then I didn't pay that much attention afterwards. I'm guessing that's the 5th movie?
The Pirates movies were good to me. Dead Man's Chest and On Stranger Tides broke a billion in profits, along with At World's End in the 960's. So they doing good. I bet this one will be as good as the others.
