Can I use a 1/2" spacer without new wheel studs

I need to space out my current wheels since they are rubbing on my coilovers, I want to use 1/2" spacers (hub centric) but I'm not sure if I'll have enough threads leftover after.
Any input would be great!

I would love to know as well. I have coilovers ready to install and thought about 1/4 spacers...

1/2" spacers are going to leave you without enough stud for the lugs to SAFELY hold the wheel. You would be better off replacing the studs with 1/2" longer ones. Also check the legality of 1/2" spacers in your state. In my state of PA 1/2" wheel spacers would cause a vehicle to fail it's safety inspection.

1/4" spacers are usually the max that can be used without going with longer studs. You would have to try them and make sure the lugs have enough threads to safely hold the wheel though.

The best way would be to go with wheels that have more offset although that is much more expensive.

That's what I have been reading. I wonder if 1/4 is enough of a spacer...

MM has 3/8" spacers with extended reach lug nuts that you can use on oem studs. If you use 1/2" spacers you will need longer ARP or Moroso studs. Steeda has an ARP stud that is longer than oem but shorter than ARP's typical stud. For fitment purposes, you can use washers on the oem studs to space out the wheel to see what spacers give you the look and clearance you want.

Just adding on to this, I tried fitting on 1/2" spacers and you definitely can not do that, 1/4" spacers work perfectly fine though.. I ended up ordering the ARP 2.5" extended wheel studs and will be installing them this weekend. I'll update you guys on how it works for me, but I'm not expecting any issues.
Only question now, what's the best way to press in new wheel studs?

I used UPR coilovers w/ strange struts. I like the ride feel, but the coilovers make SO much noise. I need to put some toolbox liner between the strut and the coilover sleeve..

Awesome. I just got the SR coilovers. They are brand new and picked them up from a friend for 300 bucks. I know they are not the best...but I hear they are noisy. So you suggest lining between spring and strut?

I'm not sure how much space is between the coilover sleeve and shock on the SR coilovers, but that's what I've been told and have read helps a lot with noise.

With just the coilovers, not at all. The reason I need spacers is because I'm using 2015 mustang rims and without spacers part of the tire was rubbing on the coilover spring. With stock v6 and mach 1 rims, I never had any issues.

Awesome. I kinda wanted 1/4 inches in the back just to fit a little more flush...
