Cats vs No Cats - Paxton Coyote

Currently have a 2011 Paxton Auto puttting down 550/430 with an off-road x.

I'm going to get it retuned with the factory X pipe put back on. I'm wanting to have it more of a sleeper going forward.

I may also add the torque booster in the future if I find a good deal.

Questions:

1. Is there any truth to melting cats if you have a supercharger if you have a good tune?

2. How much power will I lose?

3. Can I offset that power with a torque booster without sacrificing my motor if I have cats on?

Thanks for your assistance in answering these questions.

Truth! I have long tubes with catless x pipe and gt500 axel backs. I get compliments on how quiet the car is.

I have off-road x and gt500 duals. Don't like the sound at low Rpms. Has nothing to do with WOT.

Thanks

Unless it is a emissions or a stink thing keep the cats OFF- and adding a torque booster to supplement lost hp because of cats is just not a good idea- . why don't you step your tune up a lil ,550 rwhp is pretty conservative, and then you may not need the torque booster.

Putting cats on a power adder car can hurt the motor if that cat starts to get melted or burns up. Im with everyone else and leave the cats off and switch out the mufflers if you want a different sound.

Just over 600 HP with a stock exhaust and Gt500 mufflers. I tried going catless for about a week. Couldn't stand the stink or the sound but mostly the stink.

My garage doubles as rec room and the residual smell was downright offensive. Going on 3 years with power adder and cats with no issues.

Sorry to high jack your thread but i'll be having some kooks mufflers for sale come monday. Nice quiet rumble when cruising and loud on WOT. Can have a conversation in the car while cruising.

I had a cat melt and its assumed that the extra back pressure on the one side caused a spun bearing. I was tuned by a reputable tuner on a cat's tune and it still happened. I would only use the stock cats for inspection then put the o/r pipe back on.

I am going on a year with CATS and a Procharger stage 2 with ID1000's. I know I am leaving power on the table, but I can't pass visual inspection in my state without cats on my car, and don't want to deal with swapping them on and off for the next 20 years.
