1st oil change at just north of 5200 miles. I put in 10 quarts of AMSOil 5W-50 and the job couldn't have been easier. Hardest part was jacking the car and setting the jack stands. Got an Evercraft Oil Filter Wrench from NAPA, PN 776-9007, for $5. It is 76mm and it fits the filter perfectly. While I have seen youtube videos claiming the proper size is 74.5, I had no issues with the 76. Made pulling the old filter and putting the 17 foot pounds of torque on the new one easy. Not even a hint of slippage. You really need a deep oil drain pan, this thing drains like an elephant taking a piss. Oil life was down to 3% according to the on board computer and I am really surprised the factory fill lasted more than a year, I bought this thing back in October '15. I have the Ford Performance oil separators on both sides of the motor. The passenger side has been pulling about 2 ounces every thousand miles while the driver side has remained bone dry. I will be interested to see if the AMSOil changes anything. I noticed a significant drop in my Bob's separator when I changed to AMSOil on my '13 GT500. Sure am looking forward to the track key and oversize throttle body for this thing.

Thats, awesome. I have 1250 Miles on my car and I want to dump the break in oil before I put it to bed for the winter. Thanks for the tip on how easy it was. I too am looking forward to the track key and oil coolers for my tech pack.

What is this "track key" that you're referring to? I just picked up my '17 and I'm not aware of a different key. Please enlighten me.

Amsoil has a way lower NOACK rating than Motorcraft. That's the big reason why not as much ends up in your oil seps.

Curious to see if anyone has had any oil consumption on there motors ?

On another forum there are some guys eating oil including me. I checked my oil first at 3000 miles and had it changed .... I was at least a quart down so my store I work at is doing a oil consumption test.

5:10 pm They checked just now and a 1/2 quart low +/- between 3000 and 4100 miles driven

Checked my oil yesterday. After 2900 miles the oil level has gone from 100% to 25% on the dipstick. I don't think that's bad and can live with it. I'll be doing my 1st oil change this weekend if the weather isn't too bad.

Checked the FP Oil Catch Can (passenger side) today. It was a few ounces, not much at all. Yay.

So you were at 25% of "still good" or 25% of the capacity? The latter would mean you went from 10 quarts down to 2.5 quarts...
