Hey guys, I'm looking at some wheels and I was wondering if 235x50x18 tires would fit. They'd come with the rims so that's why I'm asking.

Going to need a lot more information on the wheel specs that you are looking to buy, bud.

Since you stated that the tires were 235x50x18, I am assuming the wheels are 18". If that's the case, then those are the right diameter tires.

How wide are the wheels? 18x8? 18x9? 18x10? etc? The width will determine whether or not those tires will seat/seal on the wheels safely. For example, if you are looking at wheels that are an 18x8, those tires will fit fine, and you shouldn't have any issues. If the wheels were an 18x10 and up, then you might start having to stretching the tires for them to seat on the wheels properly. The more stretch you have, the less integrity the tire has; which could result in a blowout of some kind. It also goes the other way too. Too much tire on not enough rim (i.e bulging) also could result in a safety issue. A 235 is a skinny tire, which needs to go on a skinnier wheel (18x8, 18x8.5, 18x9) a 305, for example, is a much much wider tire, and will need to go on a wider wheel (18x10, 18x11, etc.)

The "50" in the 235x50x18 is the side wall height. Larger the number typically means the larger the sidewall. On a stock ride height car, a 50 sidewall tire will fit fine, and you should have no issues. If the car is lowered, you could start experiencing some rubbing issues.

Hopefully this helps. Let us know the dimensions of the wheels you are looking to buy, and we'll be able to tell you for sure whether they'll fit or not.

Hey man, thanks for the reply.
The wheels are 18x8, they're the stock gt rims:

The tires on them are 235x50x18 but I do have the 00' cobra r steering rack with the stoppers already added, so I'm not concerned with rubbing when turning, but rubbing when just cruising. The car does have coilovers and the car is lowered, but with 17x8 rims with 245x45x17 tires I have just over an inch of space on all four corners.
