Even better... Had about 90 miles to empty. Took 11.9 gallons to fill it.

With 90 miles to empty, I finally decided to get gas. I couldn't be happier with the car so far. With a mix of city and expressway driving, I averaged just over 72 mpg and got 1,047 miles on the tank of gas that was in it when the dealer delivered it. I'm excited to see how it does now that it's warming up!

wow thats twice the mileage my former Honda Accord got and it had a 17.1 gallon tank (33.4 -33.5 mpg consistently).

car looks great, I love the subtleness of your mods. well done.

That was in cold weather. I'm amazed at how much temperature plays a role in mileage from this car.

72.2 was my first and worst tank. It's only improved since.

I take it you get such good results from the small drive to work.

If you were doing a 50 mile highway commute to work, would the results not be quite as good?

It definitely gets better mileage in the city. My round trip to work and picking my son up before heading home is roughly 45 miles. Most days I can get 26 miles on a full charge, then it goes into Hybrid mode and switches from gas to electric. I only charge once a day, overnight so any miles beyond the normal 45 or so are hybrid miles. I do a decent mix of expressway driving, but I use the cruise control a lot. On a flat or downhill road with the cruise set at 78 it will stay in electric during the hybrid mode, run out, recharge and switch several times between gas and electric.

To answer your question specifically, the first 26-30 miles of your 50 mile commute would be electric no matter what speed you go and the last 20 would be hybrid.

After owning the car a little over a year I'm still impressed with the mileage.

My lifetime average after 12,000 miles is 120 mpg.

My current tank is the best tank to date. After 1,200 miles on the tank, I'm averaging 317 mpg and have just under 3/4 tank remaining. They installed charging stations at work and it made a huge difference. During the week, I use little to no gas at all.

Very cool! If there were more charging stations at stores/work/other places we frequent, we may have gone for a plug-in hybrid but we drive a lot with very few charging stations. So we went with just the standard gas model.

Have you ever had gas sit in the tank long enough it went "bad?"

What kind of range do you get on one full charge, and at what speeds? I know you keep plugging it back in, but have you ever just let one charge go all the way down to see how far it gets you?

I had a Titanium EcoBoost before this one.

Never had gas go bad, if it goes long enough without using gas it'll start just to get fluids running through it. I also remote start it every morning since it's still pretty cold in the mornings.

It gets about 30 miles on electric alone up to around 85 mph, then goes into hybrid mode. I tried a tank with no charging and a lot of expressway miles and it averaged about 50 mpg.

After owning the car 2 years, the lease was up... In 2 years and 22,000 miles, I filled the tank 11 times.

I leased this one Monday.. Had it tinted Monday, lowered yesterday and will remove the door emblems when it warms up a bit.

Windows are 5% on sides and rear and 35% windshield.

Awesome results. Out of curiosity, what's your takeaway when compared to the Titanium EB you had before? I have the EB model now and, while I enjoy the added pep, it's really not fast enough to be fun and I get pretty awful gas mileage (best tank has been 28-30 mpg). I've been considering swapping my Titanium for an Energi, even though I wouldn't really be charging it at all right now.

The way I looked at it, it's a daily driven family sedan. Thought the EB was quicker, it wasn't a racecar by any means.. But I did run it to see how it would do at the track. It ran 15.1 stock and 14.2 tuned. The Energi ran 16.2.

Right now my trip to work is all city and 26 miles round trip. I charge overnight at home and during the day at work and use little to no gas during the week.

Without charging at all, I get 40-50 mpg.

That's awesome. How is the snow traction?
