Any internet deals I found were lies. Good luck getting a deal on an RS, if you get MSRP lock up the deal...

Not sure about a RS but McDavid ford in Fort Worth TX actually honors the prices they post online. Got my wifes EcoBost for 4k under MSRP with no haggling. No it wasn't during a sale.

I have no issues finding an RS at MSRP. BUT I'm not going to pay MSRP, there's a bunch of 2016's available and it's going to be 2017 in a matter of weeks.
So I'm waiting to see what happens after the "holidays"......

I recently called Imperial Cars & according to the salesman I spoke with, stated their offer is only available to their "local market" New England residents [VT NH ME MA RI CT]......

Found dealer in Southern Maryland with 3 RS's in stock. 1 - '16 and 2 - '17's. Currently selling the '16 for MSRP. The Sales Manager hadn't set the ADM for the '17's yet but suggested the markup would be in the $2-$3k range "because he could". Didn't make much sense as MSRP deals seem to be widely available. I suspect they will take something less than MSRP for the '16 with the '17's sitting on their lot.

While I'm not sure why he said that about the RS's....majority of all cars have different rebates depending on where you live. It doesn't matter where you buy it, the rebates are determined by your ZIP code in which you live in.

A lot of the time when people find specialty cars online marked down (GT500s, GT350s, RSs, Raptors, etc) it's because the dealer has a new car pricing tool that automatically prices all of their inventory right around invoice minus all the rebates.

Just because it's on their website or a third party, does not mean they have to honor it; and no, they aren't breaking any type of law by not honoring it.

Also, Austin was talking about 2017s for MSRP.

Unfortunately there isn't much markup in the newer specialty cars...I think on a fully loaded RS there is only a couple grand. Forces dealers to ask for more money since they will only receive limited allocation. The 1-5 they get, they are forced to make money since for every 100 Focus and Fiestas sold, they make a couple hundred dollars a car and the manufacturer doesn't assist in keeping the lights on.

Thanks for the info. I get what you're saying. Just not sure why anyone would buy a '16 RS at MSRP when MSRP deals for '17's can be found? I was there to see the Raptor they had just received and the Sales Manager mentioned the RS's to me. I hadn't actually seen an RS in person. Could be a fun daily driver but not sure about the seats? They seemed a bit on the tight side for me. Will ask for a test drive next time I happen to be traveling by to either rule it out as a "thanks, but not for me" or see if a deal can be worked out.

Prefer to buy "local" but certainly not opposed to looking elsewhere when it makes sense to do so.

If the dealer marked up the sticker on a '17 RS then it would maybe make sense to buy a '16 at MSRP, depending on how much the markup was on the '17. If they're both being sold at MSRP then it doesn't make sense to buy the '16. The colors are a carry-over so a discontinued color wouldn't apply.

I got lucky and stumbled into my dream RS this week... 2017 Nitrous blue RS2 with no other options. Dealer held firm at MSRP and I paid it.
Another dealer 30 miles away had a similar car with more options at $1800 over sticker, it lasted a day on their website. (although they may have taken less then their listed ADM)
MSRP for 2017's is out there. But I don't expect to see prices dip under sticker until this fall once demand thins out more.

I'd bet they have a 3rd party pricing tool.

Call on it, I'd be surprised if they sold it for that.

I went back on the site & now the dealer listing has changed were the dollar discount amount has been erased or deleted; Just has a "line" thru the MSRP and says to call for the discount quote....

I did save a "screen-shot" showing the discount amount before the change....

I bet they just got the car in and it was just published to their sight. I imagine it had the rebates of a normal Focus figured into the discount price.

These are selling like hot cakes at MSRP.

I am on the fence about buying a Focus RS. Stopped in a local dealer in Baltimore and they were willing to let go a 2016 Black RS2 with sunroof and upgraded wheels for Invoice. Sounds like a fair deal, but I just can't do another black car for a daily driver. Maybe I am crazy for passing it up!

What is the Invoice price with those options? If it's a big deal to make this invoice price "public", just PM me....
