Sounds a lot more like the GT500 we all know and love... But I would like to see a bigger blower. Doesn't whipple have a 3.1 or 3.3? The 2.8L is a great SC, though.

Inside info now suggest 5.8 trinity and why not it's easy to get them to 750/800 hp my guess is a reworked 5.8 with a 2.8 blower

Not happening. If it's a 5.8 it's a derivative of the new Super Duty engine that was in the union contract from last year. That would mean 115-mm bore spacing and variable cam timing.

If I was a betting man, I'd put my money on a twin 62mm 5.0...just saying.

If that is the case, wouldn't that go against the grain from what Ford has done since 2007 introducing the Shelby GT500 to it's mustang line-up? Ford has always implemented a different motor into the Shelby GT500 than it has any of it's other available mustangs of the year. If Ford decides on a 5.0L Coyote platform, (which I'm personally not against) what would set it apart from a GT? Twin turbos and maybe some beefed up internals?
Just basing this on historical values from Ford.

There is a number of things Ford could do, like DI (changes compression ratio, and forged internals), but not much that would permanently set it apart from the GT motors as DI will eventually be in all vehicles.

Well a DI/PI combo.

I would think the twin 62's would be one factor setting it apart from the GT, plus I would imagine DI and better internals to make around 775/700. They aren't gonna do the 5.8 again, they are downsizing all motors and going turbo if you look at the rest of their line (including the new Raptor). Look for the 5.0 and it wouldn't surprise me if they finally used that "eco-beast" name that was mentioned a bit back.

I'm guessing a 5.2L cross plane TVS car., especially with a possible Ford/GM 10 speed auto option. No way to beat the gas guzzler tax this time, so that combo can be made to reliably generate 750+ on 91. They may even have an advance build of the upcoming 2.65L Eaton based TVS system with a case of their own design. Edelbrock is releasing their version of the 2.65 this spring for the Coyote family and VMP is rumored to be already working on their version as well. Lots of possibilities, of course, but the TVS is a proven reliable system for Ford that would likely appeal to their street manners and warranty concerns. Moreover, later TVS designs like VMP's Gen-2R and the looming Eaton based 2.65L will feature improved top end to go along with their already proven dominate low end power delivery. Still, just a guess though....

Ford is on Eco Boost kick and that's not supercharging any motor. From what I've heard 5.2 cross plane with twin turbos. Optional 10 speed auto, that will be in
There in durability testing now.

since flat plane would allow twin scroll turbos, i really wouldn't be surprised if it was still FPC... but i doubt it's a 5.2 or a coyote at all... more likely it would be some sort of 8 cylinder engine based of the ecoboost rod/piston architecture.

the ~.575 liter piston design fits 2.3,3.5, and if made a v8 would be a 4.6 at a v8... which i could totally see.

I dunno though its ford... they could bring back the roush boss motor in 7.0 liters call it a boss 429 and we could all be wrong.
