What's up fellow Mustang owners. I'm new to the forum. I've been doing some reading on here and haven't came across the topic of any motor ticking noise at about 3000 rpms. The dealer says it's normal.

Do an internet search. The topic has been discussed on multiple forms. There was a memo to dealers indicting "piston rattle" was normal on the engines between 2000-3000 rpms. Most prevalent on start up/cold motor. Diminishing as oil temps increase. This is an inherent characteristic of the forged aluminum pistons utilized in this high performance engine. Hopes this helps.

That's what they told me. I'm kinda not buying it. I just done another search on it and I see someone posted something on a Shelby site saying the same thing. Are you experiencing the ticking also?

Yep. Depending on throttle, you can make it come and go in that rpm range. As the oil temp gets closer to 190-200, it fades. Was extremely bothersome at first. Now I tune it out.

I haven't noticed any ticking yet, but I'll keep an ear out for it.
