I am a complete newb when it comes to TV's. I am looking for a new bedroom TV (lightning hit my house and now my HDMI ports don't work on my Panasonic Plasma). I know I want 4k, and i want to spend less than $600 and want at least 50". I see that Best Buy has two "E-Series" 4K TV's both at $549 but don't know what the difference is between the two.

This also seems like a really good deal for a 55" inch 4K with HDR and a 4 year warranty.

I do have an HHGregg, however, I like to shop at best buy, its the same price there, plus 2% on iBotta, plus 2% in rewards on BB Card, and I am an elite plus member so it gives me a 45 day return period.

10 minutes and a soldering iron and I'm sure you could fix that Panasonic for less than $10

I've had several different makes. I'd rate them as follows:

1. Samsung
2. Sony
3. Vizio

But to be honest, unless you have all three of them next to each other or at least in the same house, you won't notice a significant difference.

are Vizio any good? they seem like the cheapo brand that's always on sale. ive seen some 70" Vizio for too good to be true pricing though...

i have all samsung in my house. i used to be a big fan of sony but theyre always more expensive and ive read in reviews that their quality has declined quite a bit. they look amazing but end up having issues, based on what ive read. im in the market for a new tv soon. from what ive read Samsung and LG seem to have the best reviews and reliability.

also, i would try to buy it at costco if you can. they automatically add 1 year to the manufacturers warranty and then offer a square trade warranty on top of that. BB would probably be my 2nd goto spot though.

I'd say LG or Samsung. We have a 1080P 65" LG flatscreen upstairs. Just got a deal on a 4K LG for downstairs love it.

I have an 55" lg 4k, it was like $100 more than the vizio but this one is 120hz. It got knocked off its stand and fell 6 feet to the floor and did absolutely no damage to the screen, and it hit hard. I knew it was dead. Be it pure luck or not idk but LG has always been a very reliable great product.

To those of you throwing name brands out....be careful, every brand has high end and low end panels. To say that Sony's are all better than LG's isn't entirely accurate depending on which Sony or LG you are talking about.

Just picked up a Vizio e-series. The picture is great and has chromecast built-in, what else do you need?

Read the reviews, plenty of information out there to figure out which TV is best for you.

Don't go Sony. A few years ago I spent over $2k on a brand new big screen from them & literally days after the warranty ended, it took a dump. They refused to help me at all. Since then I have never bought Sony anything & will continue that way. I love my Samsung plasma.
