Alright guys. I drive a 2009 GT500. It's stock except for a Flowmaster exhaust system. I'm not sure if it's a cat back or an axle back, and I'm also not sure what type it is. However, I think it's a Flowmaster Outlaw cat back from watching a lot of videos and comparing sounds. I haven't had a chance to check.

Anyway.

It's loud and deep, which I LOVE. However, it drones like a M.F.er

What I'm wondering is (And I know I could potentially find this in the search) what kind of system should I get to keep a deep throaty sound, it still be loud, but also get rid of drone? I would like to get a cat back exhaust.

I've heard that Corsa is awesome, but I would like to get your opinions before I purchase. Do Corsa Extremes drone? I've heard they don't. Also, any suggestions are welcome. I am young, and enjoy having a loud exhaust, but I'm also married and love to take road trips with my wife. So please keep that in mind when suggesting.

Thanks everyone!

Do you know if you have an h/x pipe or anything? CB dont typically drone too much. If you have the outlaws then the muffler chamber is what makes it louder i would assume. Corsa is very nice, pricey, but worth the money. I also like the sound of the Bassani system. I would say is that you should figure out if its a CB or an AB and go from there bud.

I have an O/R X with the Bassani mufflers and it sounds awesome with no drone. I can be on the highway top down having a normal conversation

Hi Soulless, if you were looking for a catback exhaust system that is on the aggressive side with a deep tone, we would recommend one of our Competition cattback systems (2.5" piping-#15883, 3" piping-16674). These do a great job of bringing out the Mustang sound everyone loves without making the car obnoxiously loud and impractical for daily driving. You can find some more info on these systems on our website here:

If you have questions about either exhaust, please feel free to send us a PM anytime!

Picking an exhaust system is a total crap shoot because we all have different tastes. We always try to make an informed decision but unfortunately, a lot of the time, we end up not liking what we chose. And what makes the decision even more difficult is that not only are off-the-shelf systems an option but going with something custom, which I ended up doing. I do not know of anyone else who has the same components as I do. I started with a 3-inch Bassani cat-back, then eliminated their mufflers. I had installed '69 Z28 chambered mufflers (3-inch) from Classic Chambered Exhaust in front of the rear axle. Then I added a pair of 16-inch long resonators (also 3-inch dia.), in our original muffler's location. Couldn't be happier!
