Hey guys, i picked up another 04 cobra last week. The second i pushed in the clutch pedal it was heavy as all could be and released only if you had your foot literally through the floor board. The throwout bearing was screaming as well. I pulled tranny yesterday and like i said t/o bearing is wasted. It has a ram clutch in it, but if it is going to be this heavy i am tossing it and putting a stock clutch in. Or will a bad t/o bearing and improper adjustment cause the super heavy pedal? Thanks

Check the routing of the cable and make sure it isn't being pinched or twisted. The vert I just sold last week had a Ram clutch as did my first Cobra in '06, they felt about the same as stock.

My Ram HD clutch his super heavy. I have my rear end getting fixed right now and the guy at the shop was like your left leg has to be way stronger than your right. lol
it really is stiff. He was saying mcleod makes one that would feel 75 percent lighter. I guess one day ill go that route.

Well I am going to put my oem clutch in from my other 04 that I put a 4r70w in. This is a stock car and the pedal was way too heavy. Just wanted to see what others had to say

I have a Ram HD clutch as well and it's pretty heavy too. Only way I know is because any other manual car I've been in, I feel like my left foot will go thru the floorboard. I'm just use to my heavy clutch.

That's probably the best way to go. There's no real benefit to having a super stiff performance clutch in a car with stock power levels. An OE will make your day to day driving much easier!

I would try looking into cable issue..

my stock pedal go hard to push..I even snapped 2 cables from it..

I thought T/O bearing..or clutch..after a new clutch and cable I still had same issue..

ended up being the cable needed oil..

cable was binding ..even new ..

its been 30k now..1 thing I noticed..I switched to a single hook aluminum quadrant..it has a longer pull than stock..

I dont need to push clutch to floor now to shift..less missed shifts

Just replaced my clutch, from a RAM to a McLeod RXT. The RAM was heavy as hell!! No fun to drive at all, noisy, chatter, heavy... With the RXT, it's like driving another new car.

I put a ram a new cable in at the same time. Ask my old knee about that clutch. It has lightened up a bit now but will chatter easy, got to be bad for the flywheel. I would look at someone elses unit!!!!!!
