It's not a "clunk" per say...but it's something
When I'm in 1st, 2nd or even sometimes in 3rd and pretty much when I'm slowing down, I can feel a rocking back and forth (front to back actually) somewhere in the driveline

I've read about the 'clunk' and I'm not certain I'm really hearing a true clunk/thud

But when I'm slowing down in 1st or 2nd and my foot is off the clutch, I can literally feel the car moving front to back somewhere and it doesn't seem right

What could it be? Driveshaft joints? My TOB is new, my clutch is fine, its shifts in and out of gears as it should but something is def up

Thoughts?

Could be free play or slack in the rear diff, mine has it real bad making it almost impossible to idle through a parking lot without starting to buck and jerk.

Apply the parking brake, get under the car and see how far you can rotate the driveshaft.

Good place to start^^

Typically its a combination of things that causes the backlash like you mention. You may find one component that is excessive though and like stated above, id start at the diff. Take a look at the bushings at the diff and IRS as well.

I noticed a decent change by installing the correct 9/16 bolt in the front IRS subframe mounts.

Rebuilding the diff or trans, if in fact that is what it is.

I would do the test Olympic mentioned but bear in mind, Ive had pretty serious backlash and not experienced the bucking. I suspect there are some other things that you can do to minimize it like the 9/16 subframe bolts and you may need some new IRS bushings. Unfortunately the only cheap/easy fix is those bolts.
