All,
I recently upgraded by 2008 with a TVS along with a few other supporting mods to get about 620 rwhp.

I was wondering if the stock 2piece drive shaft would be ok at that power level or should i upgrade. I dont drag or beat on the car (too badly) nor am i running drag radials.

I would be intetested in your opinions and if i need to upgrade what is a good choice. I noticed ford racing offered one but was not sure about quality.

Thanks guys!

I had a dynotech on mine. The drag radials will be really hard on it from a dig at the track. I ran a few thousand miles at 680 with my 2 piece on drag radial before I swapped it out. I never went to the strip though.

no you dont need one --- you need one when your car is sticking at launches --- that is when the weak link will show its self and the OEM will break. If you are not launching or other traction issues give out first 'tires' ... your OEM driveshaft will not be stressed to break.

If setup up right and dragged a stock HP GT500 can break its OEM driveshaft.
I never track mine or drop my clutch at the light -- thus, i did not upgrade but i am still tempted -- they are lighter and prettier.

My stock 2 piece lasted up until close to 800whp and 1.4 60's but twisted an snapped shortly after. I have to admit I was surprised at how good the oem shaft held up.

You'll be amazed at how heavy the stock 2-piece is if you ever take it out.i run a Dynotech with a BMR safety loop. I consider it a safety mod. Why risk it?

I run the '13/'14 OEM CF shaft mine with Breoland's new flange. Alot of driveline noise is eliminated and the car is much more responsive. It was one of the best mods I've done.
