Nice job with the build dude! I'm sure you're enjoying doing all the fun mods to it!

Thanks! Hope your cobra is still treating you well. This is Marc btw, talked to you about selling yours a few months back haha.

I need to do that to my fender wells!!!

You won't be disappointed. For the OCD people like me, it was a must haha.

Got my new intake in, and on. Finally got to drive it for the first time in a few weeks. Felt good. Getting a chip in the windshield fixed next Thursday and Windows retinted in Friday. Finally the bubbling rear window will be gone!

I need to find the bolt that holds the head shield on, missing from the original intake. Anyone have an idea where I can get that? I'm assuming it'll be a trip to the dealer, not a big deal.

Yeah I remember haha! I'm glad my fiancé talked me out of it. Getting back into adding more stuff to mine again. Looks like you've got a clean DSG!

For my sake I wish she wouldn't have. But it worked out either way ha. What all do you have planned for it now?

I've got one hell of a laundry list started for mine. Its a slippery slope.

Haha yeah I know the feeling with the mods! At one time I had an excel document with all the parts and prices haha. I'm looking to do a really nice set of wheels, big brake kit, one more cooling mod, get the front end repainted, and probably a TVS down the road. All I need to run a bigger blower now is larger injectors. Everything else should be good.

Ya, I'm guilty, I also have a list. And just ordered the wheels, ordering brakes next, then I'll start piecing together TVS parts.

Great job on it so far, love the attention to detail in the wheel well liners!

Thanks!

Got a few things done last week, bubbly window tint stripped and new put on, then diff pinion seal replaced.

Finally got to wax it also, and just washed it. Gotta love the first wash after a wax.

I need to do the idlers next, then suspension. Hopefully by the time I get all that done the wheels will be almost complete.

I agree, I love them!

Your DSG is looking great

Thanks! Still a work in progress ha.

Looking slick. What brand did you go with for the rear Cobra inserts?

They were actually already on the car, I'm undecided if I want to change them or not.

Eaton has to go

Leaning towards keeping it. Just looking at a smaller upper, a port, and coat it. I don't think I will have the need for more power beyond that. I am trying to set the car up for some track time and 500-550 will put me where I want to be.

Pro tip, go to the hardware store and get some 1" plastic tips for the bottom of chairs. put those over your windshield wiper knobs and it'll clean up that area even better.

Besides, there is also a thread here that talks about people who have swapped their Eaton out and then deciding to go back to it. Unless you are looking for big power or some type of race application I don't think the Eaton needs to be swapped out, but that's just me. I'm kind of the odd ball around here where I like the power of the car, but change it in the looks department LOL.

Great call. I'll grab a couple of those asap.

We're on the same page haha. Small power adders, and some form and function. I don't think I'll need any big power adders.

Got the new idlers on. Waiting on the new belt. Awesome picture I know. Hopefully once those are done I'll tackle the suspension.

Went to install my new idlers since I got the right size SC belt yesterday.

I got the Metco 3-90s and 1-100mm. Got the old belt and idlers off, new ones on and started to put the new belt on and realized that it was definitely to short. I double check the size chart, and the belt I ordered and it should've been right, but we definitely too short. I checked the part number on the belt I took off and its actually longer than the one I ordered. (the one I ordered was supposed to be longer to compensate for the aux idler and the 100mm I was adding to the system)

The previous owner had told me the car had a 4# lower. Come to find out, its actually a 6lb lower. The belt that was on the car was actually too long. So I installed my new idlers, minus the aux idler, and was able to reuse the old belt. The addition of the 1-100mm idler game me the right length for the belt that came off.

So, good news/ bad news. Need to get another belt to fit the aux idler, but come to find out I have the 6# lower which is the one I actually wanted.

Sorry no pictures, just happy the belt/idler squeak is gone. I am assuming since the belt was so much longer than it should have been, this new setup should yield me less belt slip and more boost. Will find out this weekend.
