By the time the 18 models of these cars are available, inflation alone will have them priced into the $80s. Also, with the load of new technology, a walk-out price well into the $90s should be expected. Start saving your money now.

Problem with the Z06s; they're very common to see on the road. Now the new CTS -V is a different story. They're hard to get and you don't see any on the road. I tried one out and they're awesome to see versus any pics.

So what would you guess a base starting price would be?

I know I wasn't arguing a hellcat or zl1 over the z06, so I don't know where that came from. But you are going to stick to your guns and take a z06 over a car that has no information released about it. Sounds like a........brand.....loyalist to me:thumbsup: And where is this 70k gt500 coming from? Is that a base or loaded estimate?

If the cars are comparable in price I'm gonna get the vette. I think it will still be the better overall performer 10 years from now when the next GT500 is launched.

I want them to stay rare :)

CTS-Vs are basically the best used car investment in history. I really hope Cadillac is basically forced to keep building them (which they have to if they want to pry buyers from M series cars etc; and to share the platform with the camaro), and that they never do quite convince the public they're really an M3/M5/AMG level car... so that their residual values stay cheap lol. Back in 09' I convinced my dad to buy a used 06 CTS-V with 30k on it? 65k sticker car for 24k. He sold it to a Marine with 90k miles on it 2 years later for 26k. Whole lot of car either way too. And that was a cool car... not as crazy fast as everything today, but jet black 400 hp 6MT caddies aren't a bad way to go :)

Speaking of which... i'm selling a house in a few weeks... might need to see if any of the newer used CTS-Vs are around me on craigslist :hmm:

My guess is announced at 2017 Detroit show maybe leaked a little before, released as a 2018 model and then with the 2020 re design coming they'll probably still be sitting in show rooms till 2022 like the 2014 models were/are.

What are the dealers that move the most SVT stuff and don't usually charge markups ?
I'm in Raleigh NC but I've heard there are some in Texas and don't mind traveling.

I'm not sure inflation is as big a factor in pushing up the price of these cars as content (safety, technology and performance items). While competition is a good way to raise the bar, it still costs quite a bit to keep ahead. To be fair, I expect the next GT500 to be basically ready to go right out of the box. The earlier GT500s, needed quite a bit of aftermarket to realize their true potential. And were still lacking in many amenities that buyers expect these days.

new car market is crashing some... they cant' go too crazy... I've seen some '14 models still sitting in show rooms unsold.

I just want to know where to get one without markup.

"Crashing some" is kinda contradictory lol

Regardless, the 14s still on the ground are likely stuck in a dealers garage, or sitting on the showroom giving someone something to talk about.

Take $55k, divide it by 12 months and you get almost $4,600 a month. A lot of us pay 5-10xs that in advertising.

Ford has done an exceptional job of creating just enough vehicles to demand a premium and first launch, and produced enough to satisfy majority in the market.

in my experience there is ALWAYS someone selling at least as low as msrp. it's just a matter of putting in the necessary keyboard tickling. I think ADMs have gotten to be so widespread they're just not going to go away. willingness to search out-of-state is becoming more and more necessary for more and more people.

I want a big 4-door daily for my 50 mile commute. Bring back the Galaxie name. Drop in the high output ecoboost or a big ol v10. Bigger than the SHO. Conti size. Anyone else with the same wish?

I was half way through a 511 FE powered 61' Galaxie crew cab build when the body shop went under and didn't tell me. I gave them 6 months to get my shit done and they went under and the bank took my engine, trans and rear end a total of 33k in parts and now i'm getting reimbursed thanks to the court system at $400/month...

So yes... i have the desire but the taste in my mouth is still a little bad.

I agree. Ford is very strategic when releasing info about their performance vehicles. So lets hope they were waiting for Dodge's next move with the hellcat platform. Interesting for sure!

Are any of the predicted engine platforms capable of 800hp on pump fuel? I have a feeling Dodge will remain on top of the throne with the HP game as rumors of a 800+hp challenger have been lurking for awhile now. I bet though Ford has done their home work with weight savings, suspension and a 10spd auto option.

Part of me likes to dream of a hypothetical phase out of the GT500 and the return of the Boss with a forced induction 4V 6.2 "Boss" variant.
