Hey guys. I am finally getting the converter installed. I had it my my closet for about a year but ginalky getting it done.

It is a circle d 4c.

Would upper and lower control arms help with drag racing? Also would the car still drive good with aftermarket control arms? Which would you all recommend?

I just want a good driver but want to hit 11's on the motor.

I would recommend some suspension mods like stiffer/lower springs in the rear end, control arms and some relocation brackets along with some stickier tires, because you will need them. You will simply be roasting factory tires if that is what you currently have on your car.

Do they have to be adjustable control arms or will regular ones work good. Which brand would be good?

Stock auto suspension has been proven to work great. I would see how the car is with the converter first.

Good idea. I will take it to the track with the converter and see what happens. Then go from there. Thanks for the advice.

If you can swing it I would have a quality upper adjustable control arm installed at the time of the converter swap. This offers a couple things it firms up axle wrap. And it confirms proper driveline angle- don't know whether you have stock springs or not or if you have mileage on them and have sagged. the only down fall to a quality upper ca is the heightened road noise and transmitted vibration. People don't realize how important proper driveline angle is, it insures proper wear, fuel mileage , and suspension geometry. plus it is a lot easier to have the shop set the angle on a lift then you doing it your self on jackstands- ? are you on the stock 2 pc driveshaft? if you are then this doesn't really apply because the extra joint compensates for certain driveline angles. If you but your mods in your signature people don't have to guess

a quality upper would still help the suspension and traction you just wouldn't be utilizing it to adj pinion angle till you upgrade to a 1 pc d.s.

So upper control arm very important. Thanks for the advice. I am dropping off the car today. Will be getting it back next week. I will update you guys on how it turned out. Hopefully test it next week at irwindale speedway. It's only 8th mile but it's better than nothing. Stock it ran 8.2 with a net street. We will see how much it improves.

I would try to work on optimizing what you have before adding anything else

I went 11.8-11.9 multiple times with just a tune and a tire on my A6 5.0 in good conditions

otherwise no mods besides SW/Corsa mufflers.

maybe shed some weight. these cars rip with less weight to move

I am going to race and try to do my best with. You ran good with little mods. I will see what I can do. Hopefully it doesn't rain Thursday.

I went to Irwindale on Friday. It's 1/8th mile. I ran 7.69 at 91 mph. My best 60 foot was 1.79. I will go next week and try to improve.
