Is my 11' GT not so strong?

Just curious to see where my 11' GT stands. Its my first coyote car, and I ran it at the track a couple weeks back. While I'm actually pretty happy with it, I feel like it may not have the power that other coyote cars might have with similar parts. Its a 3.73 Brembo package car with a manual trans. It has a JLT intake, Borla ATAK system, and its been tuned locally. On a Mustang dyno it did 375 wheel and 350-ish torque. It also has a Ford Racing 1 piece shaft, and the previous owner had done American Muscle brand lower control arms, panhard bar and lowering springs.

On regular 19 in. street tires, my best of the night was 12.61@112, with a barely 1.9 60 ft. Another guy who went with us suggested I try to run it out in 4th, but I never tried it; seemed like when it was time to hit 5th I had a lot of track left. I probably could have gotten a tad more aggressive with the launch and tagged a 12.50, but ran out of time to run. I feel my shifting is pretty solid but don't really have anything to compare it to.

Any input appreciated.

I have an auto but my car bone stock went 12.84 @110 with a 2.03 60ft, I would think that shifting into 5th before the finish might be killing your et some but maybe some of the manual guys that would know better will chime in.

Sounds about right. Mustang dynos usually read a bit low. My car has similar mods, except I have no cats and a lund tune. Dynod at 406 uncorrected / 392 corrected. 1/4 mile time was 12.6 @ 114 with a 2.0 60'.
I'm not exactly great at quarter mile driving, road course is more my thing... So it probably has some more in it even on street tires, especially since I've added headers.

Thanks for the response guys. I still have cats on it for now, haven't decided if I'm gonna delete them or not.

I think for sure noldevin, if you got your 60 ft down you would go 12.30-12.40 easy, the mph is there. What were you launching at?

I've seen several guys say they ran a 1.9 60ft on street tires like you, which just seems impressive to me. On 18" base wheels and tires, I could only run 2.2-2.3 60ft's spinning like crazy and running 8.7s @86mph in the 1/8th. Then I switched to a drag radial and dropped to 2.0 60fts running 8.3s @87mph still getting experience on how to properly launch the car. Now I cut 1.8 60fts and run 8.0s @89mph lol it's just work in progress that takes time to learn properly. A good ETs also depend on other things like DA, temperature, track prep, etc.

I don't think anything is wrong with your car, from what you've said anyways. In regards to dyno numbers, my '14 just put down 387rwhp 356rwtq with nothing but Roush axle backs on a Dynojet this weekend.

Here is the run.....

It was the slowest a 1.9 60 ft could be.... 1.999... The track must have been prepped well, because I practiced on some back roads around my house and couldn't get traction at all. Then when I went to the track I bogged the first 3 runs, raising my launch rpm every run. The run in the video was about a 2800-3000 rpm fast slip... Probably could have got a bit more aggressive with it but the lanes were backed way up by that time, decided to call it a night.

I was basically launching off idle but still spinning through 2nd and chirping 3rd. I think I'm still letting off the clutch too fast. Could probably do a lot better if I slipped it a bit. Island Dragway doesn't have the best prep either, not that it matters that much for street tires.
I do have headers and better street tires now, I'll have to get back to the drag strip after winter and see what I can do.

Times see pretty consistent, I wouldn't worry about it. Any idea what the DA was?

I don't know what the DA was, unfortunately.

Would love to have a set of slicks and skinnies for it, but trying not to spend too much on my 11'.... still got a fox to get running.

Seems pretty good. With a 2.02 60', I ran a 12.59 @ 113 mph w/ a 2012 GT Premium, Brembo's, and 3.73's. That was my quickest pass, and best 60' was a 1.98 on a different pass. This was tuned, Roush AB, and MGW shifter on Pirelli P-zero rubber and made 388whp/360sih tq. Stock untuned was 13.09 @ 109 mph.

Personally, I feel that the '13-'14 are quicker. I've got a 2013 GT Premium now, Track package and Recaro's, and it's stock, except it has Eagle F1 Supercar tires. With a 1.96 60' it's gone 12.81 @ 110 mph. Best 60' was a 1.88 later in the evening, but only ran a 12.83 on that one.

I had a Boss 302 Intake manifold, Steeda CAI, Borla catback and dyno tune made 385 rwhp. I think your numbers are solid. I since changed set ups and tuners. Good luck!

Well I raced a friend with a 14 GT, manual car, k&n drop in, roush axle backs. His car is not tuned, and I pulled him pretty good. Even one of the three times he out launched me, I was able to reel him in by the time I was ready to hit 3rd.

Sounds like you're getting some seat time and feel for the car. For me, the best times I got were leaving the tree at idle, rolling into 1st gear vs just matting the throttle, and then NOT powershifting 2nd gear. If you powershift, you'll just break the tires loose and the spin like a mofo. If you granny it, it will hook up a LOT better. Powershift 3rd and 4th (should bark the tires in each gear) and run 4th gear out the back door. With the mods on your car (going off original post), you should be solidly in the 12.3-12.4 range.

Yeah the 1-2 shift is hard to nail on street tires, even at the track, it just spins too much. Short shifting into 2nd and rolling back into the throttle seems best.

Maybe I'll work on getting a set of stickies for it.....

What? No, 1.9 isn't impressive.
I cut 1.7 on street tires N/A. 285/35/19 Continental DW tires on 19x10 gt500 replicas
I had BMR LCA/UCA/Pangaea/Springs, off road X pipe, gt500 quad mufflers, Lund tune, MGW race spec. Everything else stock.

The 1.9 and 2.0 guys are just basic drivers still learning how to launch. Slip the clutch on takeoff. This stuff isnt hard xD
Right lane was me. Left lane was my friends ZL1 Camaro lol (whoops)

So what did you cut on stock upper and lower control arms, stock springs, and stock panhard bar? That's quite a bit of difference in comparison to what I was referring to. Not to mention stock engine/tune/catback vs the bolt ons you have done. But a 1.7 on street tires is pretty wicked lol

The fastest stock quarter mile time is here, and this is with a 2011:

Pure Stock------1.89 - 12.22 @ 115.18 ----STOCK --3/26/11 Cecil County

The list isn't parsed well enough to see the fastest stock 60', but I'm going to assume it's probably pretty close to that. Best I've gotten is a 1.98 in my 2012 and a 1.88 in my 2013.

On a side note, that's moving out. I wonder if he had 3.55's instead of the 3.73's. I'm out of 4th gear at 110 mph, right where I'm crossing the stripe.
