Lighten up Francis.

In in all honesty I see that picture much differently that many of you. I see it as the death of a stupid franchise know as F&F. It's just too bad it took his death to hopefully (fingers still crossed) put an end to the stupid ass movie series and its equally stupid ricer subculture it spawned.

A) F&F As a matter of fact, did NOT start the "ricer subculture" you speak of. I saw it myself my senior year in 1992 in Sacramento. One of my best friends owned the first model Integra GS-R. It actually hung real well against my 88 LX and handily beat my other best friend's 84 Camaro Z28. All three cars used to clean up at the street races against Civics, Corollas and all the other imports that were being raced by the high-schoolers at the time.

B) If you haven't been paying attention, a good number of our MUSTANG owning younger members specifically point to F&F as to what got them into cars in the first place.

C) You're an old fart stuck in a stereotype. Get over it and yourself.

That movie is what got me into L's personally lol. I was more stocked about the L than the other ones.

Shit it had a direct influence in the ricers around Orlando. Nobody really bothered with imports when I was in high school. After it came out there was a massive increase in stock honda's with mufflers and drilled air boxes around.

Massive.

I think F&F is single handedly responsible for the astronomical price increase for Supra's. I am a fan of the movies though, good for car enthusiasts any way you look at it. Most ricers eventually end up graduating to domestics (mustangs/camaro's/corvettes) anyway. Most of them get a major beat down by a mustang and end up buying one, haha!

Just like the quote below states, even if it did encourage massive purchases of Integras and Civics, a lot of the more sensible will kids eventually graduate to "real" cars, or make their imports one of the killer ones with massive HP. Either way, it started somewhere for them.

I wish that's how it worked down here. In Brown town the spanish kids never graduate from Honda's cuz they are are too broke.

I hate going on "that" side of town over by CFRC for all the ricers but at the same time it was tons of fun when the drag strip was open and just laying waste to them in the Lightning...I will say they were mostly good sports about it
