Being from Missouri I had not heard of "Jumping Cactus". But years ago I played Gold Canyon outside Phoenix for my first experience with desert golf. I walked on and got picked up with a group of old guys. I remember the marshall telling us at the first tee box not to chase your ball in to the desert as there was jumping cactus.

First hole one of the old dudes goes walking off and comes back with 4 or 5 of those pods stuck to him. :lol1:

Those things are no joke, you can not get them off you. They have a hook on the needle and the needles just hang on you.

5th hole the guy started feeling bad and I played out alone...LOL
