MAF stands for massive air flow sensor. If you pulley the truck, you have a chance of pegging the maf. That means due to spinning the supercharger faster than stock, it pulls much more air. It pulls so much air it can pull more than the stock MAF can read. When that happens, the ECU doesnt know and you run very lean. Then your engine can blow.
A mafia is something you plug into a maf that if it pegs, it has a predetermine setting that basicly saves it from going lean. I am not certain on that but i know it prevents blowing the engine if used right.
I went with an aftermarket maf. It can handle way more airflow than the stock can. That way i am safe.
