Do you have an OEM cable or aftermarket? Some aftermarket cables will do that when hot. Best to use an OEM cable and lubricate it (several videos on YouTube show how to do this). Also, watch how you route the cable to keep it as far away from the exhaust as possible.
Extending the pivot ball...
One more point. It is the water in the radiator/block that cools the engine, not the antifreeze. I run more water and less coolant (70% water/30% coolant).
If you think the antifreeze cools the engine better, try running a 100% antifreeze. OTOH, 100% water will work great for a while, but...
I'd also check for a power leak. Something could be on and drawing power while car is shut down. Interior lights and trunk light are good first candidates.
Use a good meter to measure voltage at battery at shut down, then again the next morning.

When new, my car had a {tink}{tink}{tink} sound as I slowly drove down the road. When I found and removed that tag, the {think} went away.
Years ago, someone from Ford chimed in about the tag, but I'm old, and don't remember so good. CRS.
It is safe on paint, but it will remove any wax.
You can also spray WD-40 for removing the adhesive, and it is also safe on paint. A Bodyshop man told me about that one for vinyl letters (like the car dealership ad.
I just replaced some springs in my trunk lid and thought I would post a few helpful tips.
Here is the new spring in place on the underside of the trunk lid:
I bought the springs at CJ Pony Parts. 2 springs cost me $37.96 to my door...
