Mine does the same thing and has for years.......Ngauge logs show 55psi throughout a WOT pass....my Autometer Colbalt gauge shows a 1:1 increase with boost....I haven't spent anytime finding out why.....if your A/F is money your good to go.
You could get away with a 10% lower to add a little more boost and a couple degrees of timing.....maybe move up to a 2.5 upper with the 10% lower if it gives you more than 20lbs. of boost....adding timing and a lower are cheap and should really wake up your motor....don't bother with a blower...
Bryant crank was $3800 5 years ago....not sure what they are running now....plan ahead...Bryant and Winberg are typically 10-12 weeks out....I had the 2.2 specially made and ran a triple nozzle meth setup....kinda made my own E-85.....lol.....24 degrees of timing and 26lbs on 92...
I broke one on a Maxed out Trinity....15% lower and 2.2 upper on Meth....the snout cracked on that one.....the second one was with a 3.4....same 15% lower with a 3" upper on Meth.....that one looked perfect but the machine shop checked it out and it had multiple cracks in the...
All good....that was my point....your TVS and my 4.2 are going to feel just as nasty on the street....I broke 2 CJ cranks at 1000hp....there not cheap but a Bryant or Winberg crank is basically a piece of artwork.....definitely not the weak link anymore...
All good Jay....not disagreeing with your choice of blowers....just letting guys know that are on the fence that a turned down 4.2 is wicked quick and as nasty as a TVS on the street....I have a pretty basic set up.....5.4 Iron Block...Bryant Crank.... 3.55 8.8 rearend ....4.2 KB...L&M...
Everybody knows big blowers make power and do well at the track.....so does a TVS.....My point is I've built and owned both set ups and a large blower is just as nasty and strong down low as a TVS if set up correctly......that's it period....not putting down your TVS....60-130...
Sooooooo.....a car my weight running my times with a TVS is what.....super nasty, super fast, and real snappy....and my car is lazy and sluggish because I'm running a 4.2....All good bro....I understand your point perfectly....your making total sense now.....I love the "there are these guys...
I don't want to compare anything....just stating from experience that a large displacement blower is bad ass and not lazy on the street.....so is your 1200hp TVS for that matter....but your I'll compare my dyno graph to anybody and anything is a bad look....check back in when you get her to the...
Send me your dyno file....lol......I'll see you at the track....lol....let me know when you start running 8.5's at 4000lbs.....I haven't updated my #'s or been on the dyno in years...
I'm not making any point other then a large displacement blower is NASTY on the street and certainly not lazy....I'm running 8.5's @ 163 @ 3986 with driver....you are running 9.5's @ 155 @ 4000.....not sure me beating you by 230ft+ would be a super impressive look for the TVS.....lol.....It is a...
FYI.....Anybody that calls a large displacement KB or Whipple "Lazy" on the street has never had one properly dialed in.....our just never had one.....my 4.2 makes 760ftlbs of torque at 2600 RPM's.....I've had a max effort TVS, 3.4 Whipple and 4.2 KB.....they are all good blowers but the KB is...
