IM rebuilding the motor in my mustang and was wondering torque specs and details were would i get a book or site that has acurate info?

I have a light tap at 3000rpm and up until i get on it through 3rd to 5th and i dont know if its the tranny or main bearings if im moving I pretty much have to come to a stop to put it in first or else it whines real loud. I was wondering if anyone thinks its the tranny or i spun a bearing.
