Ford TSB 13-6-15 > Anyone had it done?

Here's an update: Pulled the old sensor today and put a new one in. Definitely quite a difference (see pic below) when it comes to the O-Ring as noted in the TSB. I don't have the tool to do the Misfire Monitor Neutral Profile correction, so will be taking it in to a local shop that specializes...

Ford TSB 13-6-15 > Anyone had it done?

Below is the link to the TSB. I've had the symptom (flashing check engine/MIL lamp and P03XX code) described in the TSB and considering booking an appt. with the Ford dealer to get it done. Wondering if anyone here has experienced the issue and/or gone to a dealer and had the work done....and...

    New BOSS (New to me)

Two very different cars. Boss definitely more balanced then the GT500 IMO; scalpel vs. hammer. Also fewer made. Great choice. Enjoy it! Add a set of Corsa Extreme axle backs and drop the side exhaust baffles (if they haven't already been removed). You won't regret it.

    Red Key Gas Mileage

Spoke to a 2013 GT/CS owner and his mileage was actually similar to mine. He drives an automatic and similar driving conditions (city/hwy) to me. I'm a bit surprised. Going to ask some more owners at the next mustang meet. I did change the plugs and air filter but haven't noticed any impact to...

Spark Plug Coil - How Do you Release the Connector?

Figured it out. Once you slide/push the red clip up, you then need a small screw driver (pocket size), to get under the the raised area at the base of the connector and lift up to fully release the connector. Here's a pic. The red tab (circled) needs to be pulled upwards (already done in the...

Spark Plug Coil - How Do you Release the Connector?

Thought I'd start on replacing my plugs but couldn't get the clip free from the coil pack. I release the red clip from the connector, but the connector still won't come off the coil pack. What am I doing wrong?

    Red Key Gas Mileage

Thanks for the feedback. I do miss the GT500 for that sweet supercharger whine and the push you in your seat acceleration. However, the quad exhaust w/track key lopey idle is music to the ears and the Boss is much better balanced out of the box; handles, good acceleration, and great looks...

    Red Key Gas Mileage

Yah, mixed driving, nothing very long on the highway, mostly city, and as a result, not overly spirited. I definitely think there's something going on affecting the mileage. My previous ride, a custom tuned 08 GT500 was seeing similar mileage, but I'd expect it with a supercharged, 525 RWHP car...

    Red Key Gas Mileage

I'm curious what others are seeing on their gas mileage with the Red key in mixed driving. I've gone thru about a tank and a half after taking the car out of storage and seeing about 12.5 miles per gallon. Hadn't really looked at this until this season...with gas prices being so high. My car...

    Boss reliability

I'll add to this thread, since Boss reliability is a worthy subject. I owned a 2012 with very low mileage and shortly after acquiring it noticed it was hard on oil. Long story short, I received a brand new long block from Ford under warranty. No idea what caused the oil burning, but was happy to...

    Motorcraft SP-548 Spark Plugs

Absolutely will. They ship each plug with a plastic tube covering the bottom of the plug to protect them from potentially changing the gap/getting damaged. Smart.

    Motorcraft SP-548 Spark Plugs

Hi All, Just bought these and will be installing next spring when the Boss comes out of storage. Interestingly, the in pkg. instructions say "Spark Plug gap is not adjustable". Looks like the gap is pre-set to around 0.052 or 0.053 range from what I can tell (I have silver dollar shaped type...

    P0301, P0304 DTCs

Car is completely stock. Will pull the plugs in the spring though to see how they look. Any idea what the Ford recommendation is on plug change interval? I'm guessing they are platinum plugs, which typically last a long time.

    P0301, P0304 DTCs

Haven't done that as yet. I guess it's a possibility, though the car only has 35K miles on it. Seems pretty early for a plug problem? Also, the fact it's happened on different cylinders makes me wonder if it's more related to the TSB? Car is now in storage till next spring
