I'm sure you've already thought of it, but I'd definitely test on a scrape piece of aluminum how any clear interacts with the sharpie before dropping it on the real piece! That's awesome they rolled out the red carpet for you.
Best part is, prices are moving up without oil making a big move. Diesel at this point is higher than it was in March @ 6.26 in town. Prices here are as high as they were when oil was roughly $20 more per barrel. If oil spikes again prepare for significant pain.
