A GOOD shop can fix that no problem.
Walking to get another car seems risky, may get one with similar issues, may not get one for a long time, given shut downs etc.
I agree, I should hope 5 years after the debut of the "R" that they could buy as many wheels and wings as they want to. Seems like it's plenty of time to ramp up production. I know it's CFR not Ford making the wheels, but 5 years is more than we were in WW2, and look how many bombers came out...
When the "Anyone else frustrated with Ford over the next GT500?" is at 6035 posts, you know Ford has an epic fail on their hands.
I second everything TOB has said. These unobtainium cars are just a frustration.
Coupled with the epic fail that is naming an electric SUV "Mustang", I'm really...
DCT is a wildcard. I like driving a manual with no auto blip or other driving aids and trying to get downshifts right.
BUT, that video of I think it was Treynor, driving a GT4 DCT at an HPDE did look like fun too.
My questions that I hope you could "guess" answers to:
1) I see there is Carbon Fiber "track pack", I'm assuming that has sport cup tires.
2) Will the carbon fiber "track pack" be production limited like the GT350R, or will anyone be able to get one like the track pack on the 13-14 GT500.
3)...
The C7 debuted about 9 months before the S550, and GM has the next generation, on a new platform with a different layout, out running around the ring, before Ford completes what amounts to adding a blower and associated hardware.
You really think watching the car putt putt around is comparable?
If the weight and HP are true, it will all come down to how the DCT affects the performance.
I don't know enough about the real world performance differences between a torque converter auto trans vs a DCT to make a guess of it's 1/4 mile.
