1ns you definitely eliminate brake, you got no other option, if the noise it that bad. Still hard to believe they are needed with that little play. My best to you.;)

OK, than your culprit goes back to bearing and brakes. Double check brakes, specially crap shields, and go from there.;)

OK, when you are in neutral, are you rolling or are you stopped?? If you are stopped, it can't be anything related to your axles. How old is your clutch? do you power shift alot?

Bad pinion bearing will make noise on deceleration some what like a bad U joint regardless of speed or angle. A carrier bearing would be more like a hub bearing making a rumbling noise at speed over 25ish MPH and will change when turning. Regardless, if it is a bearing, given time it will get...
