if you don't plan on getting real tires, there's no point in getting mods.
I tried to stick with "good" tires with some basic bolt ons and it was like trying to drive the car on ice.
Mickey Thompson ET Street R's @ 305/45/18 now and she finally sticks.
it's like a different car.
i'm probably an outlier tbh- i actually never really loved the look of the S197's
it was more of a slow burn for me-
i had an 03 sonic blue terminator making 500 wheel and she was great- but after selling it I really missed having a fast car.
i took another look at all muscle cars and couldn't...
yeah they're kooks (ceramic coated 1 & 7/8")
they just sometimes come without being a perfect fitment- and mine were unfortunately one of them that don't fit just right and it was slightly touching/rubbing the steering shaft. every other area has (slight) clearance.
Turns out it's my steering shaft rubbing on the headers since they're not in perfect spec. smdh
getting a thinner steering shaft at this point since it's a lot simpler than taking the headers off and sending back to kooks.
when did you install them? recently?
i think covid changed a lot in regards to supply and they make to order now which is probably why they have more fitment issues now than before (and massive lead-times- I waited about 8 weeks for mine)
I'm not saying everyone has issues- but I know for a...
I will say as a heads up with Kooks long tubes- their fitment is shit.
they're way too tight and I'm currently dealing with now having to replace my steering shaft with a thiner one cause its touching.
Be prepared for the possibility of a bad fit.
Hey guys
car has 12k miles and long tubes and McCloud 1200 clutch were just installed.
I noticed the car now makes a grinding sound and you can feel it through the wheel whenever you turn hard at higher speeds.
i looked all around and don't see any visible rubbing anywhere.
I also just...
(mustang dyno)
basically full bolt ons-
key is in the tune 100%. I'm pretty much maxed on fuel but the potential of these cars is pretty amazing.
i'll probably end up grabbing a boost-a-pump and some ID1050 injectors and just be done with the car.
