So how critical is this on the newer engines with PFDI which is a combination of port and direct injection? Doesn't having fuel in the intake tract reduce the tendency for coking? I suppose getting the oil out of the intake tract is still helpful from a performance perspective...
I'm waiting on the specs for the next gen 2024 Ranger Raptor. Yeah, it has already been released for other markets but you can bet there will be some differences on the North American version. Even at $70k it would be a relative bargain compared to the F-150 Raptor R.
Pump came early this afternoon. Just came back from about a ten mile test drive. No issues. Worst part of the whole process was that tank strap hanger bolt buried behind the IRS cradle. Not one of Ford's better ideas.
True, so true.
I dropped the tank yesterday afternoon and was actually able to get the hat out of the tank and the pump out of the hat without disconnecting any fuel lines. I also didn't have to disconnect the filler tube from the tank. I have the car on ramps and only dropped the driver side...
Timely thread. I tried to start my '99 today after sitting in an enclosed trailer all winter. No sound coming from fuel pump. Haven't checked for power to the pump yet but I'm guessing it's the pump (again). This will be the second time the pump has been replaced and the flippin car doesn't even...
Strange request. I am trying to add a Mustang GT engine cover on my 2018 F-150 5.0L. I can buy the cover new or used all day long every day but I'll be damned if I can find the oil filler neck extension elbow that relocates the oil filler cap to the top of the engine cover.
Anyone selling a...
Latest rumor on the front axle is that all production versions of the Bronco will get IFS but there will be a solid axle conversion for the hard core off-road crowd available through Ford Performance. The rear axle will be solid but will use the Watts link w/coil-over setup from the Everest SUV...
Perhaps the hybrid will be the GT500? Many other manufacturers have gone this same route with their top of the line sports models. How about a 4.8L four cam turbo V8 driving the rear wheels with electric motors pulling the fronts?
BTW, has Ford actually stated that the 4.8 will be an all new...
Spent Friday and Saturday in the Motor City. We went to the Autorama at the Cobo Arena on Friday and were there from Noon to about 6:30 PM. Lots of cool show cars. On Saturday we went to The Henry Ford museum in the morning and went on a tour of the Rouge F-150 plant in the afternoon. Visitors...
I just did a Build and Price of the 2010 GT500 on Ford's website and it allowed me to spec it with Satin Black stripes on Grabber Blue. Is that right? It did give me some warnings but still shows a pic of that combo. I'm guessing you can't actually order one like that. At least I have never seen...
