I am curious how the rpm is determined on the OEM computer. Is it pulses of a coilpack?, crank position sensor?, something else?
I have a 2 pulse/rev RPM output from my standalone that I want to feed into the PCM and I need to determine what I need to convert it to for the PCM to read it and...

I am debating putting a standalone on the engine I am building, so my concern is do I need an ECU for anything?

I'm curious if anyone is cutting a semi-decent 60 foot with the IRS on a street tire (15" or 16" is fine). Not a Drag radial or a slick.
