And NOT on drag radials, what tire are you using in the back? I dont really know what good tires are out now but I figured someone on here might. I dont want a drag radial because there is a chance of getting caught/driving in the rain. Im looking for a tire that:

A) will come in a 305/315 for a 18x10 rim
B) can handle wet application
C) can handle or atleast do ok hooking with over 500rwhp

I really dont mind if the car doesnt hook that great from down low but I dont want to be spinning at 60mph+ either.

Thanks!

I just checked and saw all different types, any better than the others?

We have NT05's on our Camaro (dynoed 510) and they work really well. Got a lot of rain action on Power Tour and they never misbehaved. Before we had Invos, slightly less good from a traction POV but MUCH quieter. To add, a friend has Invos on his blown Viper and he gets decent traction. I'd recommend Invos for a DD.

I run a 245/40/18 bfg KDW with 530 rwhp. They do pretty good from second gear on. They are just a-b tires, I have drag wheels and tires for that track.

Look like they only come in 295 as the widest for an 18, what size are you running? How much power is the viper making?

im running nitto 555's, and while im not making 500rwhp, i make well over 500 ft/lbs which is what is breaking the tires loose. They hook at anything over 40mph and drive fine in the rain.

The regular Nitto NT555R drag radials do fine in the rain. I had 3 sets on my Lightning covering over 30,000 miles and never once did I ever have a problem with them. They're not as unforgiving as the newer, more aggressive drag radials.

They felt stable? I really dont want to start a " lost control of car in rain" threads in the future you see on here because of the drag radials.

Im not intentionally going to drive in bad conditions but the weather has be unpredictable around here. Just a few weeks ago the news said sunny weather and I drive maybe 10 miles away from home and its raining cats and dogs. Thats what im really worried about, getting caught off guard in bad weather.

Can't help you with my car because fwd sucks. But on my friends lightning he had the 555r's and they did just fine in the rain i've had a few friends run them in fact. Another friend has nt05s doesn't make 500whp but just about and he likes them but then again its only really rained once with them.

I run 335 Michelin Pilot Sports. They are a great tire for a daily.

Finding a tire that isn't a DR that will hook 500 horse is impossible.

I'm running a 295/35-18 KDW2 on the rear. Last forever, awesome wet traction. Can pedal 1st and hook 2nd. You're more than welcome to take a ride or check them out anytime.

Like scott, i ran the 555R's year round on my last L and didnt have issues in the rain, they have a lot more tread grooves than most DR's

I have Nittos now, but I used to have GSD3s which IMO, are the best true street tire out there. Kind of pricey though.
