A good guy making great products at a good price and with outstanding customer service. How can you ask for anything more? Steve's been all over hooking up the SVT boys and girls for a long time and I have a fealing the 10+ 500 stuff that he puts out is gonna blow even more minds.
The 03/04 hood and side scoop vents are just as nice and if you ask me, they provide that stand out look that really sets cars apart without adding too much "bling". These one's are just the same touch.
wow Tob, simply awesome. the pics, the write up...:beer: im glad i made sure to get yours out ASAP!
interesting idea to mount the screens from underneath, never thought of that :read:
i have to note that we ran out of the black oxide studs, and they were on back order by about a few weeks at the time as well. most of you will be receiving stainless steel studs instead.
believe it or not we've already sold HALF of the initial run of 50 sets! :uh oh::rockon:
im sending another batch in for powdercoating this week. most are marked for satin black. if you'd like gloss black or something else, contact me asap, or wait till the next group does in.
Well guys just wanted to update that Steve is getting these beauties shipped out. Got mine yesterday (brushed finish). Excellent piece of metal work, if you've seen his other products you know.
These hoods are begging for this addition to them, unfortunately mine is going to have to wait. Got them, looked at them on the hood :dw:and descided the stain black like Tob's will meet my goals better. So goin' back to Cali...
and now is the tough part, now that i've seen them, I want them back sooner.
I received my gloss black True Forged hood vents Thurs afternoon and put them on that evening. I ended up installing them like Tob (OP) did, which is putting the screen under the hood sheet metal. I tried it with the screen on top of the sheet metal like TF shows in their vid, but didnt like the way the top trim piece sat with the screen on top of the hood.
Another tip make sure you use blue Loctite on the studs (like Tob showed) but you might also want to give it time to bond. I had a problem with the studs backing out on me even though I used the Loctite.
I'm in the middle of a marathon detail project on my car so I only have pics in the garage. I will post more pics tomorrow if I finish up the car.
i gotta say, i expected the matte black to look the best, with the rest looking real 'aftermarket-ey' but that's definitely not the case. they've all looked great so far!
Just to let everyone know I did install them like Tob did mesh grill under looks so much better so far no issues. I did use loctite but I also used both nuts to screw in the studs all the way to make sure they were secure. Steve these vents are what ive been looking for and they finshed off my car perfectly. Thank you for making us awsome products.
