I realize that this thread isnt about this, but I have a question and can't think of anyone better to ask than the people that have posted in this thread. I am buying a Mystichrome Vert next week and I am searching all over for light bars. Where did you guys get yours? How much did you pay? Lastly, how difficult is it to remove to put the top up and down?

Sorry if that last question is a dumb one, but his is going to be my first vert. Thanks!

LOL, Well someone that has a Camaro SS for their avatar, it might be hard to remove the bar when you put the top up and down. I would leave the top down all the time.

Seriously though, I have a Saleen light bar but is the same a Classic Design Concept. CDC is alot cheaper by about $200 Dollars. CDC's I think runs about $300 or so. The installation is pretty easy if you have some mechanical knowledge. I had mine installed in a couple of hours. The bar is mounted to the car and stays there. The top goes up and down over top of it with out any clearance issues. It is a nice addition, some like it some don't.

Come man, same team, same team! Haha.

That is great news! I will search for CDC and I am very glad the top still goes up and down no prob. Now I have to find the perfect Tonneau...

Thanks for the help.

(P.S.-I'm coming from a 2002 Supercharged M3 that I just sold, I sold the Camaro like 2 years ago. I've gotta get back into something American.)

LOL, I was just kidding, LOL. You will be happy if you install one. Get a tonneau and a winguard from Haney Motorsports or make your own.

If you're buying a MystiChrome, your car should look a lot like mine with a light bar and tonneau cover (see post #11, above).

Congrats on the purchase (in advance)!

Racerat - I see that you cut yours around the humps, do you have pics of it separated? How did you paint your light bar, that looks awesome. I would like to paint mine Lazer red.

I need to take some pics of the tonneau separated. The front part stays in the car. The back part that covers the convertible top area, goes into a bag and stores in the pass through trunk. I do not have a back seat.
The lightbar was painted at a body shop and it takes a TON of prep work from what I understand. The results are amazing though.

I have to agree with most that the Two Piece is the only way to go if you are worried abou getting caught out in bad weather.. The one piece is a cleaner look..

I have a one piece saleen cover that I made into a custom two piece that stores in the trunk. Most of you guys wouldn't like it though, because it requires some modification of the car. ;-)

Your car is sick. The idea of painting the light bar is something I would love to do, but I haven't figured out what a method for prep would be.

WOW. Some very nice cars out there. Does anyone have the soft tonneau from Ford? A couple of people mentioned getting caught in the rain. I myself wont drive even if I think its going to rain. But with the soft top, you can always take it off quickly, fold it up and stuff it in the trunk when it starts to rain.
Thankyou to everyone who responded.

I have the soft tonneau. It came with my car, however, I have never tried it on, so I don't have pics of it installed.

Painful story with happy ending-

Round 1 => Bought a Mystic Cobra with the soft tonneau, but it didn't fit well. The "fold areas" tend to stick up and catch the air current - if you don't notice this in time you'll be picking your tonneau up off the interstate pavement. So I McGuivered it- drilled holes into the seatbelt tracks and screwed the cover into them on both sides, to be sure the tonneau would still be there when I arrived at my destination. It works, but restoration specialists and purists would NEVER want to do this.

Round 2 => I examined both Saleen 1-pc and Cervinin 2-pc installed on other verts. Bought the Saleen 1 piece cover because it looks sleeker- the 2-piece Cervini design contours are higher and look thicker at the rear and around ths sides. However, when I tried the Saleen cover on my car it didn't fit- interfered with the portion of the convertible apparatus that sticks up at the sides. 2 Ford dealers and a convertible specialist could not solve the problem well enough for my freshly maint-matched Mystic cover to go on the car. I know of two other Cobras that have this same problem...

With too much money invested to sell- I took a more manly approach and put all my weight on the convertible folding top rails that were sticking up at each side. Guess what- they went down just far enough so that my Saleen cover now fits as expected, and everything still operates and seals fine for rain.

Not sure I would have recommended to someone else to try that for a solution- but in lieu of anything better and possibly having a very expensive and oversized paper weight if I didn't do something, the manly approach worked for me! If interested, you can see it here => '04 Ford Mustang Cobra SVT #0356 overall #0089 Mystichrome

Good luck!
