Ok, I'd like to get my car to run 11's and still get great handling and gas mileage in a dependable manor! What should I do to get that? Assume the car is stock because I just got it and don't know what has been done to it.

11's are gonna be difficult without a supercharger or nitrous which are expensive and dangerous to your motor if you push it too hard. The safest way to hit 11's would be to do a centri kit like a vortech or a paxton and get a safe tune around 400whp ish. Then you will need to buy slicks screw drag radials they break cars unless it's something like a mickey thompson e/t street which is more of a a slick anyway. Point is it's going to cost a lot of money, if it's an auto you will need a stall converter and besides if you get lower then 11.50 at most tracks you need a cage so what's wrong with some low 13's for now? This can be achieved by simple mods like full exhaust, throttle body/plenum, gears and a tune. As far as gas mileage goes, my car has the simple bolt on's that I stated with a tune and I only get about 120 miles to a tank with daily city driving (about 8-9mpg) so a mustang is definatly not the car for you if you aren't prepared to average around 10mpg. Handling can be stiffened up by getting some good springs and shocks/struts and a set of subframe connectors will do wonders and are very cheap. You could also stiffen her up a bit by adding a strut tower bar but if you plan on going with a cold air bigger then 3" you won't be able to use one. (for instance the jlt ram air that I have uses a 4" tube that won't allow for a strut tower bar)

If you drive a mustang it's pretty hard to keep the foot up!!

I'm scared of nitros :burn:and I def. Like superchargers but ID like to start out with an alluminum manifold , but not sure which one is best and maybe cams and tune for mpg and maybe a 6speed built tranny for mpgs also .

it all depends how much money you want to spend. If there isn't a budget, forge your motor, pick up a fat turbo, turbo cams and call it a day :)
But then again, if you have a budget, nitrous, weight reduction and suspension.

It's not my daily I have swirl van and my f150 but I don't have tons of cash to Sink into it at one time , how do you reduce lb's on a vert ?! If there are better lighter suspension parts ID like to go that route untill I figure what and how much to put in the motor, the car only has 57k on it and the previous owner had it pro charged but I don't know if he did anything else . He has some chrome bbl modular valve covers but I'm not sure if he changed anything on the heads. I figure I can start with suspension then some motor mods and maybe dyno before supercharging to see what kinda hp . "DOES ANYONE KNOW HOW MuCH HP ThE STOCK MoTOR CAN HANDLE??" :ready

Even with my bad 02 sensors I still get 15mpg. When I replace them with the new ones when they get here, it will go back to 17-19mpg in the city and 24-28 on the highway. Your car sucks if you only get 8-9mpg.

Stock motor is good for low 400rwhp rang. There is no exact number so break at 410 some are ok at 450rwhp.

Nitrous is just as safe as a supercharger. You just don't know shit about it.

Ive never driven a car w/nitros , I also don't want to have to put a tank in my trunk and have to worry about refilling , I'm willing to save up and find the right charger that will give me power whenever I want it and I feel safer even though I don't know SHIT about chargers either! Anybody think a 6speed is a bad idea? It has to be a better tranny if it is able to handle a hopped up charged 4valve?

WOW my malibu with a 454ci got better mileage:lol1:

To the OP
full length headers X/H pipe catback
4.10 gears
cold air intake
better intake manifold (like the bullitt or the trick flow version)
built 3650 trans (promotion or DDperformance)
tune
heads and cams

GOOD LUCK on your quest for 11's

Keep in mind it's a convertible , how much heavier is a convertible compared to a coupe ? I've heard of putting a harness on the motor to get more hp out of the stock block, I may do that , ok here's what I'm thinking
alluminum intake manifold
intake plenum
cams, springs, whatever else to make the heads better
motor cradle , harness, whatever it's called!!?
Stainless headers (probly shorty unless longtube gives a good bit more hp
fuel injectors not sure what to get
fuel pump not sure what to get
supercharger
custom tune for hwy and playtime

I'm tryin to get at least 500hp out of the stock motor . I figure with the weight difference, this will give me what I'm lookin for in 1/4mile (11.5 12.5 all day!)

Spike if you are talking to me saying I don't know anything about nitrous I said boosting or juicing the motor are both as dangerous if you push it to the limit. Yeah my mileage does suck but that's jersey for you no one here can drive even if you are on a straight road you constantly speed up and slow down always changing gears for people who are turning or are just plain retarded and won't put the phone/gps down and just drive. So I would love to know how my car sucks.

"spike-africa" is in orlando which can also be a cluster**** just like jersey. When you can see your exit but still takes almost a half hour to get on it.A stock GT should get over 300 miles to a tank, my mach gets 290 miles out of a tank.

I see no reason for you to get 120 miles out of a tank of gas unless
1.you beat the piss out of it
2.you beat the piss out of it
3.you beat the piss out of it and it is not running good
