**9007 HID 8000k Headlight Write up/How To!!*PICS*

Hey guys. These are HID's from www.Freewaysport.com in C.A. (323)900-0486
They are Waterproof and Hard Rain or snow wont make them short out!
Replacement parts are also available just in case!
I paid $114.95 shipped. The Customer Service is great too!!
They are 8000k-Plug-n-Play, and they are a High/Low Beam kit. The High Beam is a Halogen (not a HID) for flashing other vehicles only. HID's take 10 seconds to warm up so flashing other cars wouldnt work to well with dual HID's. The Low Beam is bright enough for just about anybody!
Here are the goods!
Video Coming Soon!!

Notice I cleaned the wires up a little bit.

Pop off the radiator cover! There should be 4 Plastic Push Clips.

Grab a rag and clean up all the dirt underneath. :)

I used Stainless Steel Hardware from Home Depot and decent Drill bits!

Test fit the Ballasts, Mark with Permanent Marker, Drill the holes and mount as low as possible so the Radiator cover fits flush! MAKE SURE TO MOUNT LOW OR Radiator Cover mount go back ON!

Here u see the ballast mounted and uncovered the HID Bulb!

Both Ballasts mounted with supplied Brackets.

Not a bad spot!! looks pretty Clean huh??

Here you can see the difference between the 8000k HID and the Stock Sylvania on the right.

Put the Radiator Cover back on and your pretty much done.
Take your time and hide the wires. When u pop my hood you cant even tell I have HID's. The reason I picked those spots for the Ballasts is because there wasn't much room anywhere else. Most people mount them directly behind the headlight but I didnt want the clutter. The Radiator cover covers most of the Ballast so water will not get into the electrical connectors. This install took me 3 hours!! If you dont care for a clean install just through everything next to the headlight and you will be done in literally 30 minutes!

i tucked my balasts right behind my headlights and used a self tapping screw to hold them in. i also covered everything in wire loom and i used some waterproof connectors. also my bro did the h.i.d. swap at the same time i did mine. i have my relay connectors facing down and he had his facing up. we didn't even notice what we did but with his facing up, water would get in and short out his relay and mine was fine. we flipped his upside down and everything was good. just a little helpful tip.

I dont even have a relay for this kit :)
No envoy fog swap for me this is plenty!

Clean install, but i'd be worried about water coming through grill and messing em up, when i did mine, i mounted them on the metal surface right behind the headlights, just keep an eye on em.

Thanks for contributing another write up. Im sure your a huge hit with the newbie's.

Haha

BAK Japan

..and then in small writing on the bottom right: DESIGN IN JAPAN, MADE IN PR.C

(People's Republic of China)

Even the eBbay units that have Germany printed on the box and have german writing on the ballasts are all made in China.

Looks Good!

I need to pick up a set for myself as well. I've held out long enough.

my kit was suppose to be a direct plug in, haha what a joke. i "plugged it in" and only one light worked. there wasn't enough juice to run both lights so i had to run another wire off the battery to the other light. the funny thing was my battery started dieing while i was working on them so i thought they were still broke and kept taking $hit apart and putting it back together until i tried to start the car and nothing. i suck sometimes.

Only admin's can move it to the how to section, and there is already a HID write up in there, but they may still do it. But as long as he puts it in his sig like he has been, i think it will get plenty of looks.

rob, your cars looking better everyday, keep it up. Oh and if you want to, ill trade you your blower for my SHINY BBK intake...lol :rolling:

LDC thanks for the compliment. I have a huge problem that doctors cant cure! I cant stop spending money on my ride. Its to much fun buying my car presents every pay period.
As far as the BBK intake trade, ill have to sleep on it for a bit.
My next purchase is a Dr. Gas X pipe instead of my O/R H pipe. I hope the Dr. Gas Sounds better than the H pipe.

looks good, but they belong in projectors so you do not blind people (but will be using your write up to relocate mine)

I think that projectors look nasty on most mustangs. One of my buddies has projectors in his headlights and it's not blinding at all... Maybe it was a fluke.

It's been a while since this was posted in last, but maybe Stampede can edit his sticky at the top of the forum to include a link to this thread. It's gonna help me a lot!
