Chances are this will be a sub-forum in either Road Side or The Taste of Home. I doubt we'll make it a stand alone forum on the main page.

True. But this is also a little online community. So why not have a little place in this forum? I will take anything Sid will give us. If he feels that a Sub forum then that shell be it. Who knows if it becomes a hit maybe one day it will be its own Forum.

Never heard of a submarine? A forum doesn't just make it to Restaurant Row without proving itself. If there's sufficient interest it may make it to the front page one day.

There are also Police forums too, but they have a section here for it.

The Donut Shop was one of the original forums on SVTP with a very specific purpose, questions for LEOs made in a respectful manner. A general military topic discussion forum is quite different.

We are working on a lot of other more pressing issues at the moment, but I will put it on my to-do list.


For those that may be concerned, this new forum will not be just a general discussion forum for military personnel. It will be a general military topic discussion forum. Topics of general discussion will still belong in RS, pics and vids will still belong in their appropriate forum, etc.

Let me know if you need any Moderation or anything for that matter.

I do suugest at least one military personnel as a moderator to keep an eye out for possible OPSEC violations. I know most of us are trained and good about it but sometimes things can be said that shouldnt really be in a public forum.

thats not what i meant. look at what the guy posted toward what sid said. He said the idea was weak about it being a sub forum and there is nothing "sub" about the miltary. I meant if the guy has a problem with that and wants priority military chat, then there are other forums that support the feature

I agree.. OPSEC is a huge thing. I would be more than willing to help moderate.. I think that we should also have different sections within for each branch of the military.. what do you all think?? Like ARMY, MARINES, NAVY, AIR FORCE, COAST GUARD..
