Ok guys,
Made another thread asking suggestions for the eaton and also for the engine oil but because i put them together, im getting confused on what to run in what.

I just bought my car and it has 42k on it. I am not sure if the eaton oil has ever been changed so i want to change it asap! Im running a 4# lower and 2.8# upper on it.

What do you guys suggest to run in the blower?

Is there a "how to" link on this?

LMK what i should run and how to do it please! Also, what intervals should i continue to change the blower oil at?

Thanks in advance!!

Some people try to suck out the old oil with a hose through the fill hole. I have pulled the snout completely off. I bought supercharger oil from Ford. I have heard that GM sells it alot cheaper.

Yeah, thats the way ive been told people do it. Did you have to buy a new gasket after pulling the snout?

Id like to make sure i get all of the old oil out. I guess after reinstalling the snout, just fill to the fill hole and your done.

Ive heard people say mobil 10w30 is a good oil to run in the blower but some say with this pulley combo, the mobil oil isnt good enough...

I hope it doesn't need a gasket, cause it didn't have one! I used some gasket maker just in case. Not too hard to do. I would rather use what it is suppose to take, even if it costs a little more. I don't know what the GM stuff costs, but I paid like $25 per bottle. Took 2.

do not take off the snout.. that's pointless... just undo the fill plug.. place a rag in that general area... go to the local hardware store and get you about 4 to 6 feet of clear tubing big enough to fit in the hole...while inserting the tube in the fill hole try to make sure the hose goes downward..... then start suckin..or use a suckin device...be sure to drain it all in a cup so u can monitor how much is removed... THEN when you have as much as you can removed fill with new fluid until the fluid runs out of the hole... pull the hose and screw the plug.. clean up your mess and your DONE! I have done this 3 times... it takes maybe an hour from start to finish.

Yeah, im fine buying the super charger oil. I dont mind the cost, i just want whats best.

whyte: doesnt seem to hard doing it that way. Thats prob the way ill do it so i dont have to pull anything apart.

What is the proper oil change intervals for the blower? With 42k miles, should it have already been changed?

What's in there now is Ford E9SZ-19577-A and it's labelled "Synthetic Supercharger Fluid". It is in a 0.118L (4 oz) bottle, so you'll need 2 of them to refill the M112. GM Supercharger Oil P/N: 12345982 Both are classified in the nye 605 datasheet as interchangable. The differences between the viscosities of the nye 605 and a good full synth 10-w30 close but when I had my sc ported, I had posi get the GM 12345982 for me.

Nye 605 spec -
Kinematic Viscosity 100°C 8.7 cSt ASTM D-445
Kinematic Viscosity 40°C 54 cSt ASTM D-445

AMSOIL 100% Synthetic 10W-30 Motor Oil
Kinematic Viscosity @ 100°C, 10.8 cSt (ASTM D-445)

Kinematic Viscosity @ 40°C, 63.3 cSt (ASTM D-445)

So your saying i should just run the GM supercharger oil?

Sorry for being ignorant but i dont really understand the numbers you posted. Do the higher cSt numbers mean better or worse protection?

The kinematic viscosity data above suggest there is NO real-world difference in lubrication properties between the supercharger oil and standard engine motor oil. The difference is the expansion coefficient for the supercharger oil and it is greatly reduced as compared to engine oil. This is to prevent seal "blow out" because the supercharger IS a sealed system - unlike the engine. Sorry but I cannot find data on the coefficient of thermal expansion for any standard motor oil.

Nye 605 spec -
Coefficient of Thermal Expansion 0.0008 cc/cc/°C ASTM D-1903

AMSOIL or any 100% Synthetic 10W-30 Motor Oil

Oh i see. So the 10w30 is actually a thicker oil than the recommended super charger oil. I wonder if the 10w30 being thicker would provide better protection without causing any harm to the blower.

You cannot make that arbitrary leap in judgement. Read my previous post.. I hate to be redundant but..

To be safe I would use Ford or GM SC oil.

Would you use Whipple oil in a Whipple and Kenne Belle oil in a Kenne Belle?

I mean it is kinda easy, not much argument.

I ran GM blower oil in my old thunderbird SC eaton M90. I plan on doing the same for the cobra.....its literally half the price and i heard no different.
