-Yes they're wide
-Toyo Proxes TQ feel very sticky, hopefully turns out to be a good street tire
-They're very wide
-They don't bulge nearly as much as one would expect, probably due in part to the 40 series sidewall, they definitely don't look anything out of the ordinary as far as too big for the width
-They look MEATY

I can't believe I'm saying this, but I'm trading for a solid axle (ugh) this weekend and hopefully will have them on the car for fitment on Sunday.

Yes, I just got mine (315-40-17), and they are great tires! They feel a bit softer than the Nitto dr's that I replaced them with. They seem to hook better too! I am just curious how long they will last.......

they're missing a load of tread with those two huge rain slots and various tread patterns. Let us know how they hook

Not yet - the rear end is still out of the car as I'm waiting on my SRA.

Studs & spacers come in tomorrow, they will be put on this weekend.

Here's 2 275/40/17's next to 2 345/40/17's for comparison.....

New uppers/lowers installed today, as well as 3" studs and 1/4" spacer. I have 1/2" spacers coming, I will put them on when they come to kick the wheels out a little more for peace of mind. This is on stock '98 GT springs, I'll probably just wind up cutting 1/2 coil or so to drop it a tad before buying actual springs in a while (Moving in a month, trying to save the pennies until then).

-Now that I look at the pictures, it looks a LOT higher on here than in person..... weird.

Dam those are tall for a 40. But look really good! Might be my next buy once my nitto drs are done if they last as long as nittos.

the "40" is a percentage... 40 % of the width... the wider the tire, the taller a 40 series tire will be ..

Those are huge though!
