I'm working on this right now and, though it might be an error on my part, can only find 2 holes in line on the right side of the blower (when facing it from the rear). On the image above there is the top vacuum port, the evap emissions port an the boost port all in line, but on my stock eaton i only have two in the line, and they are the fittings that the red hoses go into when the setup is stock.

In other words, it seems that i am not locating the evap. emissions port or bottom vacuum port that runs to the passenger fenderwell.
Any tips as to what i'm overlooking?

Thanks

The boost port shown on the drawing is not on the blower itself, it's on the blower base plate. You can just see it in the photo above that has the red arrow pointing to the EGR Block off plate. You will have to "T" off that port. One line to the top port on the boost bypass and I re-used the OEM port with the two red vacuum lines and went from the other side of the "T" to the FRPS and Boost gauge. Hope that helps.

I see what you're saying now, but I still cannot locate the boost port.

I checked on my removed Eaton and still only see the three exits, the lowest of which appears more on the blower base rather than near the rotor area.

Here's what I am looking at: http://img355.imageshack.us/img355/249/blowerpic7aa1.jpg

Can you point it out on there or at least where it would be relatively to that?

Thanks for your help

I remember now. I haven't had an Eaton in a while. The Evap Emissions port on the Eaton is actually on the Plenum. It should be a tube that comes off the side of the Intake Plenum and points toward the passenger side. The top port on your Eaton is the vacuum and the lower is the boost.

Okay, I figured it out...thanks for the help.

Did you guys reuse the factory check valve by the bracketry or just toss that with the rest of the stuff?
Also, what did you all do with the remaining clips that formerly plugged into the egr transducer and such? Just tuck them away or what?

thanks

Does deleting the EGR give you any performance or reliability benefits? I am in the process of porting an Eaton and am debating on doing this or not.

No measurable performance gains or benefits and no reliability issues in my experience. My car makes tons of power and runs as well as it did before the EGR delete. It's more of a cosmetic upgrade than anything.

Is it just me or is the final picture of the whipple mislabeled? It shows the boost gauge hooked up to vaccum and the Y to boost. Just curious..

Not sure what's causing your problem other than maybe a faulty boost gauge. At no time should your boost gauge read 10psi at idle because your blower is not producing boost at idle. It should however read 10-20 in/vac at idle. Are you referring to your OEM boost guage or an aftermarket boost gauge?

great write up, thinking about doing this next weekend, but i'm curious what you do when it comes time to get tested? do you just hope for the best? or put all this crap back on for a day? i'm from CT, i know someone said they passed emissions in TX. i just dont want to spend a few hours making everything look pretty and then next year have to undo everything for a day to get tested.

stock eaton btw

I guess it depends on where you take it and how your particular state tests emissions. If your state tests exhaust emissions, you may not pass but I can't say that with 100% certainty. VA does not test for emissions but dealerships do look to see if emissions equipment is installed. It's very obvious on our cars that something has been removed when you take everything off the side of the blower.

If you are concerned about passing, you can use this "relocate thread" that shows you how to hide all the stuff and still keep it operational. Relocating the stuff that is bolted to the side of the blower. - SVTPerformance

when i got it tested not that long ago all they did was visually inspect for cats then plug something in.... two seconds later... done, i dont think he even started the car... does this mean i'd be OK?

They may have only been checking to see if your car was throwing any emmisions codes (faults). If you do the EGR delete, have your tuner turn the EGR off in your tune and you will not get any faults. It wouldn't hurt to inquire with any state inspection site to ask what they check for regarding emmissions. Tell them you are building a car an wanted to make sure you would pass emissions testing with it when you were done. Just ask them for a little insight.

When I hook the lines up to the boost bypass there is a rattling noise inside the blower. Un hook them and it is ok. Any ideas? It may even be the vacum diaphram making the noise.
