This is by far probably the best Movie .....anyway.....This movie did a way better job of wrapping up the trilogy then Matrix did....Highly reccomend you seeing it......no reason to try to describe it you just have to see it to really appreciate it....

of course it tied the three together better than the matrix, it was written decades ago by a storytelling master. the fact that the matrix and LOTR are trilogies is where the similarities end. Hobbits were here long before Neo and will be here long after the Matrix is a bad memory.

if you havent already, i suggest reading the books. start with "the Hobbit" i absolutely love the way the movie did the book justice, many of the creatures and places are exactly how i saw them in the book.

This trilogy is truly an epic and should be revered for the attention to detail and the obvious love of the story of all involved.

i would like them to come back and make "There and Back Again" to truly tie all the stories together.

I went to see it Tuesday night at the midnight release. It was an early morning getting home at 4 am and going to work at 7 am. I would do it again in a heart beat. Great movie.

I thought the first 2 incredible. I'm definitely going to see this, probably Monday night. (Off for 2 weeks after Friday:D ) Can't wait to see it. Will probably watch the 2 DVDs this weekend for a primer.

If you're into the genre, I personally prefer Raymond E. Feist's LONG series of books all set in the same world (Midkemia), spanning centuries, from Magician: Apprentice, to Shards of a Broken Crown, 300+ years later.

There's also David Edding's 8-millenium-spanning series of books.

Either story-tellers' full series will probably take a full season of TV series at least, to tell the story.

You should also check out A Riddle of Stars by Patricia Mckillip, which is done in the same vein as LOTR as it is just one LONG book, divided into a trilogy.

I made a HUGE mistake with the first movie, as I re-read the whole trilogy, right before going to go see the movie, and instead of enjoying the movie, I sat there and criticized everything they did different in the movie.

Truely an incredible movie. Definately qualifies as an EPIC. I went in expecting it to be great, but it was ten times better than I had hoped. Excellent!

glad its getting rave reviews, cause Im going tonight with my sisters, cant wait, gonna rock so much. 3 hr 20 min is nothing for a good movie like this, my dad was saying they actually had to cut out alot of character interaction/relationships due to time, but all that will be available on the DVD, cant wait for that either.

You gotta see it in the theaters just for the huge fight scenes on a big screen with surround sound.

Closed the office and we all caught the noon show today.     That movie rules!
The battle for Minas Tirith made the clash in the Two Towers look like a minor skirmish, the effects were the best I have ever seen by a long shot.
I also agree that the way the scenes were depicted in these films were very close to how I have pictured them when reading the books (11 times now).
Also for all three films the pieces that they left out and moved around served to make better films that captured the essence of the books instead of changing the books around to fit the directors agenda which is usually the case.

Two thumbs waaay waaay up.
